true. but he can make mayweather bend backwards or side to side. after that oscar will neeed to choose the right power punch to throw depending on where floyd leans.
The fight was lost for Oscar from rounds 8 thru 11 which was the difference in the fight, because he stopped pumping that jab. The jab opened up everything for him. He was snapping Floyd's head back, and following up with beautiful combinations. Why did he stop doing what was working? Like Manny said Oscar lost focused.
Had he kept pumping that jab,i think he closes Floyd's eye,and wins the fight easily 116-112.
It's all easier said than done.
I could repeat this about 90 times here.. But I'm finding out more and more how little people actually know about Boxing.
Alot of folks need to watch this fight again.. That's mostly it. :wank:
If it seems like Mayweather's opponents miraculously shut down - it's not some ****** ****ing accident, or coincidence.
When you can play Chess like Floyd - pretty soon his opponents start thinking more than punching.
But then again.. If anyone knew what they were talking about I wouldn't have to say this..
Just think about all the fighters Floyd has done this to.
Roach is a great trainer, but I just dont feel he really placed enough emphasis on how Oscar needed to use his jab. I would have been happy to have seen him get a little worked up. When he really told oscar to go out and use his jab, he did and to great effect. From my impressions throughout Oscars career he has been a fighter that more or less does exactly what his corner tells him and nothing else. I think a little to much emphasis might have been placed on body attacks by roach, and not nearly enough on the jab. I think Mayweather Sr, might have actualy changed the outcome of the fight had he been in Oscars corner.
"Look man, use the ****in jab man. Look man, you not usin the jab. Use the ****ing jab."
I was also really disapointed when I heard Roger Mayweather instructing Floyd to tie Oscar up.

Freddy shouldn't have to yell and scream to get Oscar to use his jab. Oscars a "legend" and professional he should have known and listened to Freddy even though Freddy wasn't yelling.
