He should fight the winner of the Katsidis/Guzman fight. Either man would provide an action packed fight.
Whats next for Diaz?

WAKEE: DIAZ HAS TO FALL IN LINE FOR THE PACMAN

CEBU -- Pacquiao's trusted adviser, Wakee Salud, who had just sent off the Pacman to the airport on the way back to General Santos, has advised the new WBO/WBA lighweight world champ Juan Diaz to take a spot and fall in line for the Pacman.
Diaz (32-0 16KOs) is looking forward to a "dream match" with Pacquiao after dispatching former world champ Acelino Freitas hours ago at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantuket, CT.
Pacquiao, the world's most exciting fighter, had been previously quoted as saying that he could easily beat Diaz.
"There are still plenty of compelling matches to make in the super feather division," Salud said. "There is Marquez, there is Barrera, Guzman, Valero, Soto ... Manny has to clean up his division first before going up to lightweight to fight Diaz. But eventually, I think they will meet and it will be a good matchup," Salud said.Comment

Pacquiao would destroy that mexican hype. Diaz would be manny's punching bag. Pacman destroys all mexicans, and it gets mexicans mad that they have no one who can stop pacman. He's too fast, and he's too strong for them all.Comment

I'm a huge pacfan and Pinoy but Diaz is a MONSTER at 135. As much as I love Pac I gotta call it like I see it. I don't see Pac beating this kid. First of all, Frietas is not pillow fisted and Baby Bull attacked Freitas whenever he got hurt with shots that would floor lesser beards. Whatever that kid lacks in power he throws wicked combos that don't stop and if Pac moves to 135lbs the power advantage he had at 130lb becomes equalized if he fights Diaz. Pac would have to match diaz output and accuracy which would be harder for the smaller Pacman againts a fighter with pretty damn good defensive skills. If Pac fought Juan, I think it would come down to who has the better chin and who backs who up. I think it would be an absolute war with Diaz comming up on top because of his defense and size. I see the bigger stronger man backing up Pacquiao all night in this one. would never count Pacquiao out though, I think he would be a much tougher fight than Freitas just because he has alot more will. I see Diaz winning by UD or TKO againts Pac. Hope im wrong if it ever pushes through.Last edited by Alibata; 04-29-2007, 07:22 AM.Comment

Both of em are good fighters meng. This win actually made me a solid believer in this kid. This was a good test and a tko againts frietas is a very solid addition to Juan's resume. This kid will be a star. I think he will get more power as he matures. Juan is world class and would give ANYBODY in his division hell. Casa would be a good fight though. That kid is fun to watch.Comment

Very knowledgeable post!!! (sarcasm) I love pman, but at 135 the only guy who can take Diaz is maybe Casamayor.Comment

Diaz has a bright future, he could face the winner of Guzman-Katsidis (I think he has too because they are fighting for the WBO Interim title, and the WBO title belongs to Diaz), other fights which are available can be a unification with Julio Diaz or a fights with top fighters like Casamayor, Raheem or Campbell/ Kid diamond.Comment
