Mayweather, Sr. Walks Away From May 5 Fight

It appears the recent comments in the press by son Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and his brother, Roger Mayweather, have hit a nerve with Floyd Mayweather, Sr., who told the Grand Rapids Press that he will no longer involve himself in the May 5 fight between Floyd Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya. [details]

It was obvious from the very beginning that Floy, Senior and Roger would not be able to coexist.

    Just too much ego!

If I was Floyd Sr., I would've never got involved in the situation. Now, he's a man without a country. Nowhere to go for him, and he's without his primary source of income. No matter how you look at it, he's going to lose.

When Floyd Sr. went to jail when Floyd Jr. was 16 to like 21, that's when Floyd Jr. gained his independence and became his own man. Once someone's been their own man for that many years, there's no going back.

Or maybe this is just another "reality" stint from them. I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

He's got guzman Chad Dawson and many other fighters his money is good. Plus he wasn't gettin money from Jr. anyway. It's just sad grown men can't bury their differences.

I knew from Roger's comments something was going to happen. From watching DLH/Mayweather 24/7 and from articles on this website it seems Roger has the biggest ego of them all, even bigger than Floyd's. Roger must have been nervous having Floyd Sr. in camp with him. Because he did what he had to do to push him out. It's sad they can't get over there differences and come together and help Floyd win his biggest fight.

The term "A man without a country" refers to a person who has jumped from one ship to go to another, and now finds he can't go to either.

Are you telling me Guzman and Dawson generate De La Hoya money?
