Mayweather: "My Power Will Surprise De La Hoya"

Most pundits have given Oscar De La Hoya the edge in punching power when he meets Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather, moving up to 154-pounds against the larger man for the WBC junior middleweight title, does not agree and boasts that his punching power will surprise the media, and De La Hoya. [details]

How is mayweather gonna suprise Oscar with power? Mayweathera hasn't surprised anyone with power since his lightweight days. Oscar has faced some of the biggest punchers in boxing Tito, Vargas, Mayoraga, and moving up fighting B-Hop when he was the samller man. Not to mention Oscar has a good chin. I am not comparing these fighters to Floyd, I am just speaking from a power stand point. Floyd can not and will not hurt Oscar at 154. Floyd says he is gonna exploit Oscars stamina, I'm sire he'll try by running all night because I think we all know weather people want to admit it or not that he will not stand toe to toe with Oscar.

Floyd is not a one punch knockout artist, true but it the punches you dont see that hurt you. Also Floyd has always had bad hands, so you have to wonder if he has been sitting down on most of his punches. I wont say Floyd Ko can DLH because it just wont happen, but he can hurt DLh is he lands lots of fast shots DLh doesnt see. And i think Dlh is suspectiable to the body (high cup vargas fight and other and stamina problems.

It kills me when people say that Oscar is suceptible to the body. Oscar has never shown evidence of being weak to the body. He took a perfect body shot from a bigger man in Hopkins that is one of the best middleweights of all time. I don't know why people are so surprised by this, it's not that shocking. Doesn't mean he is weak to the body. Mayweather fans will cling to any little thing to try and hype Floyd more. Also Floyd alwasy says his hands are strong yet he always hurts them, not to mention he won't be wearing the pillows on his hands that he alwasy wears. When Oscar fought Mosley in his prime he was just as fast as Floyd if not faster with more power. It's not like its the first time Oscar has fought a fast fighter.
