definition of a great fighter: a fighter who takes the skills he has and pushes them beyond with pure will to win. a warrior who can overcome adverdsity, a faster, stronger, mroe experienced opponent and find a way to win. thats a great champion to me.

WoW a thinly veiled attack on Floyd. Well with the exception of the part about Floyd its all pretty much obvious.

great fighter, when I think the term great fighter, I think of how rare it is. Only certain men are made of the element that let the storm of hatred rage within them, as they dig deep inside themselves, to find energy reserves they never knew existed.

has a great jab, and a great straight right hand, but can mix it up on the inside if he has to.

can take a punch from a world class fighter at the top of his game in his prime, and if he gets knocked down by it, get up, and defeat the guy who hurt him. or draw him in a hell of a battle. even if he loses, as long as he gets up from the big punch and tries his hardest, he can still classify as great even if he loses right here.

Knows how to ration his energy. great fighters all do this. big george only learned it when he was old. But the true greats are really good at this. Holmes was the man at it.

          and finally

Someone who has it in him to not be defeated, whether it be from a tough childhood, or some other life experience. this variable comes into play when he gets blasted on the chin by a guy who knows how to blast.

Every man has a breaking point. You'll see people get hit in the face at the gym and once they take a certain shot you see it in their eyes. It's the will of a man who came to fight being broken and them making the decision inside their head, 'I don't wanna do this anymore', easily seen by the look on their face. Great fighters have far more of a threshold before this kind of thing happens, however, this is the thing that happens to every man who laces up the gloves.

One day,no matter how great, your will, WILL be broken.

Does it hurt to know PBF is a fake with a very bad resume and runs like a chicken from vastly inferior opponents.

Floyd did not run from Cotto. Cotto had a fight in December and one in March. Oh yeah and Margarito is pure **** compared to De La Hoya even at this age in his career.

No one in boxing today has Floyd's skills, smarts, or talent. The only fighter who'd have a chance is Shane Mosley.

ray fought the Hagler,Hearns,Duran some of the best fighters of there era. Floyd has yet to do that. Oscar fought some of the great fighters of his era Tito,Quartey,Mosley,B-Hop when he knew he had no business at Middleweight to mention a few. He may not have won every fight but at leat he had the balls to fight the best and not make excuses for fear he may lose a fight. Floyd has yet to do that and Baldy, way past his prime Gatti, and overrated underacheiving Judah is not impressive. I know people wanna hit back with castillo and Corrales but that was what 6 years ago. What has he done the past few years other than fight B rate fighters.

Mayweather moved up to 154 because of delahoya, im sure he would of rather of stayed at 147. But when someone lays down that much money, you cant say no. And if mayweather wins, i would understadn his retirement completely. Why keep fighting when you have plenty of money to support you and your family the rest of your life. he has proven enough, and if you guys hate him so much, why do you always talk about him? its kind of childish. Obviously he is just as much popular and well known as oscar delahoya becasue all you hateres and lovers wont shutup about him. Definition of all time great - Floyd Mayweather, Roy Jones jr, Mike Tyson, There was a time in each of these persons career that noone could even touch them. Floyd may still be at that time.
I have no problem with him retiring after this fight which we all know won't happen but if he were to he could not be considered great or among the all time greats due to the resume that he preently has. He needs to fight the Cottos,Margs,Hattons. He has not faced elite A level fighters or had the. He has not had the mega fight until Oscar brought it and Oscar yet still very good is not what he used to be, and Gatti was not a mega fight he was a big name but years past his prime. Gatti just brought the fans and the money.

                    That's your opinion.

But the evidence speaks for itself.

                    Gatti, Judah, Baldo.

And between your opinion and my evidence.

                    We both know what stands.

And that is, the definition of a great fighter is not PBF.
