Duran was a great lightweight, yet he lost to most of the tue greats he ever faced, outside of the LW division. Not so for Pernell.

Whittaker is leaps and bounds ahead of Roberto Duran.

srl was the best duran beat him on his best day, duran dominated everybody in his prime, plus ceuvas was a legend, bucanan was a legend in his country, nobody beats sugar ray leanord and to think a lightweight did it, duran fought most of his big names like hagler and hearns 12 years past his prime or past becoming champion of the world agiasnt bucanan

Buchanan was a legend in Scotland? So the **** what? Fighter-deprived countries always turn their champion's into legends.

He beat Ray Leonard because Leonard tried to fight inside (and even succeeded a bit), but he was outclassed in every sense in the rematch. He couldn't adapt to any man who didn't stand with him and slug, or any guy who could box. And people think he could beat Whittaker???

Its not as simple as beating legends.

He destroyed everyone at LW, he was 70 - 1 (54) then jumped 2 divisions to beat Leonard arguably a top 5 ATG, in his prime.
Only 3 years later he moved up to Junior Middleweight and became champion.
Merely 5 months later he challenged Hagler for the middleweight title. Closely losing by UD.
Then 6 years later he won the MW title as a huge underdog.

Its not who he beat, its what he acheived and his desire to fight everyone he possibly could.

If u watch his early fights u can only be impressed by his amazing skills. He was an absolute natural fighter.

Just look at the weight classes he has been in. He did great in every class.
