we all know Armenia has the richest boxing background and most World Champs

just look at my signature..

on the real though I do feel proud to be Armenian. For our small population of about 6 million people worldwide (only 3 million in Armenia)
we have 2 World Champions (Darchinyan and Abraham).

To me thats pretty amazing. What other small country has this kind of population/World Champ ratio???

Mexicans are always tough and show a great amount of courage in the ring. They deserve respect especially in the lower weight classes

In my opinion he was the greatest Mexican boxer of all time, very few fighters in history of the sport accompished as much as Salvador did at the age of 23. It's shame he died at the young age of 23.

there has been many great mexican fighters, but most of them a money grabbing journey men who turn up get hit once or even go down off the wind off a punch fall on the canvas roll around screaming like a girl, take the purse fail to declair it to the taxman (IRS for the yanks) and feed their 60 children for the next 20 years.

To all Mexicans in here. Don't listen to the thread starter. I am Filipino and a Pac fan but there is no argument who has the dominant history in boxing. And that is boxing. Therer are numerous Mexican world champions and ranked top fighters.

There is no such thing as Philippines vs Mexican rivalry. Maybe in the future though.

shut up mate, Ive been a longtime fan of boxing and the Mexicans were the best around, specially in the lower weight class, and whats this **** you tell us "There are for sure many Filipino fighters that will knock Pacquaio on his ass but I doubt they will ever get the chance" who? who? were even lucky we found a champion in Pac, are you watchin the local Philippine Boxing, most are in the same mold of Gerry Penalosa or Viloria who cant win anymore titles, and you cant find anybody like Mijares or Marquez. Mexico produced more talented fighters, enough said.

I've been a boxing fan for 80 years and my observation is that mexico has produced the most number of boxing champions in the world. If you perceived them to be over rated then something is wrong with your vision

Thats true, although Puerto Rico has been BIG in boxing for a longggg time.

Armenians have just been coming up in the last 5-10 years, and we still dont even have a professional boxing governing body in Armenia, hence no Armenian boxer can turn pro in Armenia, they have to leave to other countries like Darchinyan(Australia/USA) and Abraham(Germany) have done.

I totally agree with you i am a mexican/american or "chicano" and admire both countries,they both have a rich boxing history, rich culture,and great people.

I agree with this when it come to population to boxer ratio BUT what about profesional boxing compared to champions (Does anyone know). Country to country compairson are hard to make because of all the obsticals faced in certian countries. Anyways, Puerto Rico or Mexico they should be both proud IMO.
