Mexican fighters the MOST OVER-RATED fighters in the history of the sport..

I have been boxing fan for over 20 years.... My observation is that Mexican fighters have been the MOST OVER-RATED fighters in the history of the sport....

If they are pitted amongst themselves (ala Morales/Berrera/Marquez) they do seem entertaining.. However, if you put the Mexican "Best" against real elite fighters, they simply lose...

Take a look at the Mexican "Deity" Chavez... It was not until later in his career that he actually fought top ranked fighters... And, when he fought Meldrick Taylor and Pernell Whitaker he was consistantly bailed out by corrupt referees and judges... I dont know the reasons but the FACTS speak for themselves...(Maybe because WBC is based in Mexico?)

NOW, take a look at the boxing "ICON" DE La HOYA.. Can anyone tell me who he beat in the last 5 years that makes him so popular? ODH is the Golden Goose of boxing yet he isnt even ranked in the top 10 in most P4p lists... Oh yea, he beat Mayorga, who is 2 weight classes smaller than him... Is it me, or wasnt he crying on the convass when he was hit by a Hopkins body shot???? Now he wants to fight Mayweather who is 3 natural weight classes lower than him....

If you are really knowlegable in boxing you would have made the same observations... And, why do some Mexicans always say that all Latinos agree... That counldnt be the furthest thing from the truth... Most Latins (Cubans, Colombians, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans)I know dont even like Mexicans...

Although I may be a PAC fan, I know whole heartedly that he is hardly NOT the greatest thing since sliced bread... He was not greatly heralded when he came to America... As a matter of fact he lost to 2 other Filipino/Asian fighters already when he arrived... I suspect that if he was not fortunate enough to come to America, he would have slipped into obscurity in the Philippines just as thousands of countless Filipino fighters....

The fact is that Philippines is thousands of miles away and it is not as easy to come to America as simply crossing a fenceless border... There are for sure many Filipino fighters that will knock Pacquaio on his ass but I doubt they will ever get the chance....

ahahahahaha, oh they had champs back in the early 1900's ahahahaha thats pathetic.

Mexico has produced more champions in the past few months (J.M and R. Marquez, Julio Diaz)than the Phillipines have in their entire existance.

        Manny Pacquiao, Pancho Villa

        as opposed to

Julio Cesar Chavez, Jesus Chavez, Julio Diaz, Antonio Margarito, Chicita Gonzalez, Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Rafael Marquez, Israel Vasquez, Oscar Larios, Michael Carbajal, Fernando Vargas, Juan Diaz, Oscar De La Hoya, Gabe Ruelas, Raphael Ruelas, Jorge Arce, Fernando Montiel, Rosendo Alvarez, Fernando Montiel, Julio Gonzalez, Salvador Sanchez, Marco Antonio Barrera, etc, etc,etc

I'm Pinoy and I strongly disagree with that. No one can dispute Mexico's dominance in the lower weights for decades now.

Don't stoop down to his level dude. This is his first post and he's here to irritate the biters.

Well, he is right afterall concerning Chavez. And for the record Chavez did feasted on bums and cabbie drivers till he was exposed by legit boxers.

shut up mate, Ive been a longtime fan of boxing and the Mexicans were the best around, specially in the lower weight class, and whats this **** you tell us "There are for sure many Filipino fighters that will knock Pacquaio on his ass but I doubt they will ever get the chance" who? who? were even lucky we found a champion in Pac, are you watchin the local Philippine Boxing, most are in the same mold of Gerry Penalosa or Viloria who cant win anymore titles, and you cant find anybody like Mijares or Marquez. Mexico produced more talented fighters, enough said.

I've been a boxing fan for 80 years and my observation is that mexico has produced the most number of boxing champions in the world. If you perceived them to be over rated then something is wrong with your vision
