I just watched the following Calzaghe fights one after another:

Well as i say i only saw that between those 3 years and years ago and first impressions they werent scared. I remember them thinking that Toney was some kind of ****** and i remember Benn saying "he was thick as 2 planks"
I certainly wouldnt say to Benns face "hey you was scared of Toney in that interiview" and because i wouldnt say it to Benns face, i wont be two faced and say it on a forum behind his back.Comment

Listen mate, your still making assumptions, assuming im a child is not a good start from you, please dont make guesses about what i look like, how old i am, if i'm good looking or not, cos to you im nothing but words on a screen. So address me as such, really... U only have to ask.*Groan* Why do I always get stuck debating with children.
1). Grow up.
2). If you're going to try and make forceful statements, at least try to spell the words in that statement correct 'address'.
You can tell that Eubank is not entirely sure what is going on. Hence why he asks if Toney can hear him speak. He also says something like "Can you put me through to him for a moment" at one point too. When he's sat there not saying anything in response to Toney, its quite explicable that he doesnt know that he can respond to him.
I never said that they wanted to fight him. I said that they werent 'scared' of him and they didnt '****' when he spoke to them. Why the **** would they? He was only on the other end of a TV screen. Eubank calling someone ignorant and Nigel Benn calling someone ****** is just as insulting from their point of view as anything Toney did. Maybe Toney was scared of them...he didnt come over to England to fight them afterall.
Dont misquote me. I said that the only people who Benn or Eubank ever REALLY trashtalked was each other. There was genuine hate between them throughout their career, it wasnt just for bigging up a fight.
I never said that they would beat either Toney or Jones.
It wasnt a forceful statement, it was an opnion, let me reiterate it again,
It was not pre-recorded, eubank knew it wasnt pre-recorded because Benn Spoke to toney. lol.
example
Benn: I fought Doug Dewitt, Robbie Simms, blah blah
Toney: Im not Doug De witt, you come over here ill kick your ass.
OK?
Next bit
One minute you are saying Benn and Eubank only trash talked each other, next minute you say 'what they said to toney could be seen as just as worse as what toney said to them' So they were trash talking toney? they were insulting toney?
make up your mind. lol.
And lastly, i know you never said those thing about who would beat who, the entire post was not directed at you, even if you were quoted.
Im sorry you felt you had to make it personal by making pseudo intellectual comments about spelling and the like.
Hope this post solves your problem.Last edited by Technical_Skill; 04-14-2007, 07:56 AM.Comment

Spelling a 7 letter word correctly is a pseudo-intellectual issue?
I'm sorry kid, you and this discussion is not worth my while.
Neither Eubank, nor Benn 'shat themselves' over a TV interview with James Toney. That is as simple as any of this needs to be.Comment

Actually i love the irony in my mis-spelling words and then implying i am intellectual, it makes for good entertainment dont it?
Thanks for dodging the majority of my above post, anytime you wanna get back to me on it, pop in.

I 'dodged' the majority of your post above because there is nothing of substance in the debate. You believe one way, I offer another way. I dont see the point in dancing in circles over such insignificant matters.Comment

Yawn,
its done now, lets leave it.
To take this back on Topic, Joe Calzaghe, i wonder how he would have faired against prime Eubank, Benn, Watson and other British MW's?
I'd be interested to see what Geoff, Hugh Grant and others have to say on this.Comment

Depends on whether its prime vs prime or not. An aging Eubank rocked a fatigued Calzaghe towards the end of their fight, but this was before Calzaghe developed the ring generalship and incredible stamina and workrate he has now. However, he doesnt have as much power as he used to have either.
I think, as both Benn and Eubank have partially exclaimed, that he would beat them all. His hands are too fast in prime, his power too great and his workrate too impressive. Against Benn it'd likely be an exceptionally high-octane fight that would turn into a slugfest that I would imagine Calzaghe too be fast enough and strong enough to come out on top of. But then, Benn only needs to start landing with a few good punches.
Against Eubank I simply cant see him scoring a KO. It'd more likely be a strong UD decision.
Could go either way against Watson (UD or KO), but I couldnt imagine Calzaghe losing their.Comment

Well Joe has already beaten a prime Eubank. Eubank was in the shape of his life with all that championship experiecen behind him. It didnt help against Joe. The young Joe who was testing the waters. THe Watsons, Benns, Eubanks all lost to guys they should have beaten and Calzaghe hasnt. Benn lost to Kalambay, Watson lost to the old bodysnatcher and as i say Joe has already beaten Eubank.Comment

Ok, but Eubank was nowhere near his prime, and took the fight at short notice, i havent seen the whole fight, seen bits of it and was totally disgusted at how poor Eubank was, and he was still landing solid shots on JC,Well Joe has already beaten a prime Eubank. Eubank's prime was 160, where he gave Nigel Benn a good hiding.Comment
