Who are the current top ten heavyweights?

Who do you consider to be the ten best heavyweights right now? There are many differences of opinion. My rankings would be:

    1. Wladimir Klitschko
    2. Vitali Klitschko
    3. Samuel Peter
    4. Nicolay Valuev
    5. Shannon Briggs
    6. Ruslan Chagaev
    7. Oleg Maskaev
    8. Lamon Brewster
    9. Sultan Ibragimov
    10.Tony Thompson

    Working Now

I tried to start the same thread this morning but because of some kind of computer glitch it didn't work - no one could post to it, including myself. But I think this one is working okay.

I cant believe that anyone thinks that Chris Byrd is not in the top 10. He held the IBF title for 3 years and then lost to Wlad, who everyone has #1.

No one can tell me that Tony Thompson is better than Byrd.

He said on TV he was going down to cruiserweight after his April 18 fight. If he stays at heavyweight, he would certainly be in the top ten. But I think Tony Thompson is underrated, and belongs there too.

          (1) Wladimir Klitschko
          (2) Samuel Peter
          (3) Nicolay Valuev
          (4) James Toney
          (6) Oleg Maskaev
          (7) Shannon Briggs
          (8) Calvin Brock
          (9) Hasim Rahman
          (10) Chris Byrd

-- Some of you may harp James still being so high, and Brock and Byrd being on the list at all. But fact is that James lost two competitive decisions to a guy who is either the best or close second best fighter in the division. And Brock and Byrd lost not so competitive decisions to the other fighter deserving that distinction.

Vitali Klitschko cannot possibly be up there until he shows us where he's at after being away for over two years. Wladimir Klitschko is the only stand-out fighter in the division. The rest are all fighting for their places. There's just so many who haven't proven themselves or who're on the same level, that it's very difficult to make a list.

You know, you're right. Although I think Vitali will quickly re-establish himself, it's probably not fair to include him.

                1. Wladimir Klitschko
                2. Samuel Peter

toney lost the 2nd fight badly and peter hasnt beaten any other top 20 guy. that was a very bad loss by toney and he shouldnt be in the top 5 because of it
