    Mormeck/Bell II?

    try those on for size

Gatti-Ward III wasn't all that great. It had a great atmosphere and terrific 7th round, but it was a one-sided fight. Gatti with one hand won 8 of 10 rounds.

a classic is a fight people will be talking about for decades or more.

Mormeck-Bell II, as great as it was, was not a classic.

It has to have some meaning to the boxing world, some importance and some publicity.

it'll still be a modern classic because it had a few memorable rounds and it was the capstone of one of the most brutal trilogies available to boxing fans. it wasn't that great when you consider the first fight, but a good fight still.

I agree. thats why i said hopkins vs talyor. Because how people see that fight effects hopkins entire legacy. I think people will be talking about it 50 years from now.

classic action...maybe an underground classic then. i'd put briggs/adamek in that boat as well then.
