Dempsey was a master of the bob and weave technique, hell he practically invented it. He would come in low pounding away at the Giant ribs and trying for overhand shots. Valuev would not have the accuracy to properly defend against Jacks swarming style. Those slapping slow shot Valuev shows wouldn't land on Dempsey and if they did they wouldn't effect him. You don't barely beat John Ruiz and beat a prime Dempsey. That doesn't happen. Dempsey would chop him down like a tree and end it in five.

Dempsey used the bob and weave perfectly and that is indeed defense. I have seen numerous fights of his. Name one attacking powerpuncher Valuev has fought with the intensity of Jack Dempsey. Valuev is not primitive with his slapping right hands.
