Why? He did the right thing. If he feels he no longer has it, he shouldn't further tarnish his already stellar record.

Well think about it like this also Buddy.....What was Tito supposed to dispute?Hops methodically beat him down all night and Winky clearly pitched a shut out......He could'nt have whined if he wanted to.DLH has legit gripes in one of his losses to Mosley and the Tito fight.....I would have bitched too.

You helped prove my point, Rae. When Tito lost, he lost.

Oscar should have a few more L's on his record.

Maybe but Oscar never complained about the contraversial fights he has won, Whitaker, Quartey (which I thought he pulled out in the 12th). However the Sturm fight was much worse than The second Mosley fight or the Tito fight. Oscar didn't call for an investigation after that one. I just have personal hate for Oscars phony persona, he is much like Sugar Ray Leonard but much Slimier. His lack of Loyalty has hurt his image severly.

It gives people the impression that he quit when he lost. That might not be the case, but it certainly appears so.

Then The Golden Buzzard goes and eats the left overs of Felix by taking on a completely exposed and possibly shot Mayorga. And the Buzzards best win is against a guy Felix almost killed Fernando Vargas. Oscar was waiting in the wings to devourer the carcass of Fernando as soon as that fight was stopped.

Oscars best wins-Small Champs-Leija, Gatti, Hernandez. Glass jaw champ-Ruelas. Old Champs-JCC and Whitaker.Trinidad Victims-Carr, Campas, Mayorga and Vargas.

If Felix would have destroyed Winky mark my words Oscar would have fought Wright next. Ike is Oscar best win and that is it imo.

                  Listen here buddy,

While Oscar was campaiging as a lightweight Felix was a welterweight in the top 10 p4p in the world and do you know who was #1....Pernell Whitaker-Trinidad waited many many years before he dared step in with Whitaker.

Sure the Whitaker that Oscar fought was no where near his prime but even that Whitaker had enough to box circles around Tito.

Also in the top 10 p4p in the world at this time and in the 147 pound weight class was a man by the name of Ike Quartey...Tito and Ike were supposed to get it on forever and insted Ike had to wait for a kid named Oscar to come up all the way from 135 pounds.

What am I saying? Tito never faced the two best 147 pound fighters of his era at a time when all three were in the top 10.

There are arguments to be made on both sides-I think your stating your case a little too strong.

It wasn't that Trinidad lacked the guts to fight Whitaker, it was that Don King had him on a leash. Tito had tried to take Don to court in 1995 to get a fight with Whitaker.

Trinidad-Quartey was also signed for 1998, but Bob Arum offered Quartey more money to fight Oscar, so he pulled out of the Trinidad fight and fought Oscar instead. Tito fought an old Whitaker coming out of rehab.

That is a good point but the Arum-King connection hurt the Whitaker fight. At the time and Felix was much younger when he became champ (age 20) and not terribly seasoned. The call for a Quartey fight was not very big and the call for a Trinidad-Norris fight is what all the talk centered around. That fight fell out however and never happened yet was scheduled to. Trinidad was more of a risk to Whitaker or Quartey at the time and much less reward than Oscar. They knew that as well.
