You are correct, LoftyDog - I am NOT defending what Judah did - it was dirty, but according to the rules, if a fighters' corner jumps into the ring during the fight, as the Mayweather camp did - it is grounds for a DQ, the punishment for Zab was not fair, after all, how many low blows and rabbit punches have been thrown in boxing without even a single point being deducted, much less a YEARS suspension and a HUGE fine?! The punishment was obsured, even though the punches were intentional, they were not a factor in the fight.
Does Judah Deserve A Title Shot?

I don't think he was suspended for the low blow, but for the fact Judah was involved & took some shots at Roger Mayweather, while Floyd stayed in the corner, regardless I see your point but what you have to understand that it was a chain of events, Judah hitting PBF square on the cup was what set it all off, Roger Mayweather would have never been in the ring if it wasn't for that. Edit: As for the topic of discussion I think Judah was champ & has skill, but just hasn't seemed all that motivated, which was porbably why Cotto wants this fight, might be a miscalculation cause Judah is bad man, even more so when he's focused.Last edited by AllEyesOpen; 04-03-2007, 11:10 AM.Comment

The punishment probably wasn't fair, but I don't think a DQ would have been either. You'd be punishing mayweather for something his corner did, and rewarding Judah for doing something so ****ed up to start it all. If someone did that to my family member, esp. the rabbit punch since you could kill someone like that, I'd probably flip the **** up too. I liked the decision to let the fight go on, even though he oculd have been DQd its still up to the ref's discretion, right? And as for the punishment, Zab probably needs it to help get back on track and stop doing ****** ****...its not like he hasn't done **** like that b4.You are correct, LoftyDog - I am NOT defending what Judah did - it was dirty, but according to the rules, if a fighters' corner jumps into the ring during the fight, as the Mayweather camp did - it is grounds for a DQ, the punishment for Zab was not fair, after all, how many low blows and rabbit punches have been thrown in boxing without even a single point being deducted, much less a YEARS suspension and a HUGE fine?! What not...he is one of the elite fighter in the sport and he could beat even given fight on any given night...Zab deserveds a title shot...Back-to-back losses, a 6 month suspension, out of the ring for a year, and fighting a no-name in his return this friday. I personally don't think Judah deserves a shot at Cotto. Cintron or Mosley would have been better opponents. Cintron: Unification fight. Mosley: Fighting like he's 26 again. What do you guys think?Comment

Yes he does, simply because beating Judah decisively is still a good statement for the young champ. He's lost two fairly close decisions recently, but if Cotto can wear him down and take him out people will notice.Comment
