Back-to-back losses, a 6 month suspension, out of the ring for a year, and fighting a no-name in his return this friday. I personally don't think Judah deserves a shot at Cotto. Cintron or Mosley would have been better opponents. Cintron: Unification fight. Mosley: Fighting like he's 26 again. What do you guys think?

Does Judah Deserve A Title Shot?

I dont know if Judah diserves a titleshot or not, but i know some champs defendings against much lesser opponents, Judah is a decent opponent and better than Urkal or Malignaggi or other guys Cotto has fought so far. Judah lost his last fight, against MAYWEATHER, i think he should still be considered as a Top-Boxer and a Top-Challenger.

Of course he deserves to be a top contender for the title, he after all was an "UNDISPUTED CHAMPION" at one time. His YEAR LONG suspension was bogus, when in fact it was Mayweather's camp that jumped in the ring and started the whole scene in the ring. And what kind of penalty did Mayweather recieve for having his camp jump into the ring and start throwing punches? - NOTHING AT ALL - sure, that was fair huh?
As for him fighting what has been referred to as a nobody - there are two reasons for fighting him, first, he needs a tune up before getting in the ring with Cotto, and second, he is REQUIRED to have a WIN in his previous fight BEFORE he can challenge Cotto.
Let's be honest - would you rather see Cotto vs Mayweather which would be like watching Gatti vs Mayweather all over again and completely one sided - or Judah vs Mayweather II, which would be very compelling.
The vast majority want to see Judah vs Mayweather II if for no other reason than to see the bad blood between them erupt again...Last edited by Soundtraveler; 04-03-2007, 09:58 AM.

Judah probably doesn't deserve a shot at the title with two losses in a row and a suspension. Cotto's camp probably wanted a name on his resume and they probably think that Judah is vunerable after his two losses. We'll see if they made the right decision because it could come back to haunt them.

And Mayweather Judah 2? After the 4th round it was a one sided fight. Before that Zab was doing good but after that... And he didn't really deserve the shot against mayweather in the first place.
