People believe that because he was KTFO by Liston. And Johansson. But thats it.
He faced big punchers like Quarry and Bonavena.
If his chin was weak Ali would of KO'd him.

But it was only Listons destruction that makes people believe that his chin was weak.

Liston has a good KO ratio. Its similar to Lennox Lewis and Bowes.
Liston isnt the KO monster Tyson and Foreman were. He is always reffered to as a big punching, skilled boxer.

People will always over and underrate legends.
patterson did have a weak chin. he was down in many many fights. he was more like a cruiserweight. quarry and bonavena werent big punchers,,,,nor was Ali

I'd much rather take a punch from Tyson. 15" fists, one of the strongest heavyweight champions of all time, and that mean attitude where he really wanted to kill you, unlike Tyson who was a much gentler person than he pretended to be IMO. Liston was like a cold blooded hit man to me. Not evil, mind you, but not burdened by his conscience in a fight either. That's how he looks to me.

Liston was meaner, harder, and and had a stronger punch than Tyson IMO.

Tyson I can see crying if he actually killed someone. He'd be messed up by it. To Liston it'd be a "thats too bad, but thems the breaks" thing.

              My opinion anyway.

I Agree with most of that, Liston was Chilling! But id still rather take a shot from him rather than Tyson or Morrison

The reasons I don't list guys like Tua, Morrison and Cooney is because of their inability to KO top guys. John Ruiz and a used up unmotivated Michael Moorer are not Walcott and Frazier. The main difference between the top fighters and mid-level fighters is will, and ability to overcome your opponent's will.

Shavers holds KOs over Jimmy Young and Ken Norton, plus he could really ****. His right was thrown with pure body turned through, like a wrecking ball.

                  Bruno just wasn't a 1 punch guy.

I agree with you on bruno. so many think he was such a huge puncher becuase of his knockout ratio. most of those knockouts were against bad opposition. he was strong and had heavy hands but lacked the snap in his punches to be a great knockout guy

Thats all fair enough but skill plays a huge part in why the didnt KO top guys, Talking PURELY on punch power - say hitting a psi machine id say u gotta have Tua Morrison and a few others in there.
