  • Lewis Says that Williams can beat Vitali, can he?

Lewis stated that Williams has a chance at beating Vitali. He suggested that Williams should "work the cuts" b/c Vitali is prone to cuts.

I think Williams has an epsilon chance. Vitaly will KO7 Williams. Lewis had predicted Sanders' win. He was wrong, and he will be wrong again.

Lewis does have a tooth against Vitali. I wonder why ? (!!!)

IM GOING FOR A SHOCK ON THIS ONE,

    four reasons
    1. Im English and it would be wrong of me to support Vitali! Nothing wrong with being partisan!

Secondly Danny is one of my fave fighters down to the Potter fight.

Thirdly he is lovely bloke and true gent.

Fourthly I believe he can do it.

    Williams TKO 9

bit short on time but i'll go into the reasons why tomorrow.
gotta run get to the pub England in a world cup qualifier in half hour, go on the Lions!

hows that for putting your balls on the rack!

Lewsi can say whatever he wants. You know this interviews of Lewis lately reminds me about Larry Holmes. I wonder why? By the way both Holmes and Lewis predicted an upset.
I can understand why holmes he is overall bitter and does not like white fighters(hell, he probably does not like anybody but white fighters more) but why Lewis. Is he bitter too.
he has accomplished a lot and has been recognised by the fans as at least top 5 fighter.
      Makes me wonder.....

vitali must haver hit lewis harder than i origionally thought. funny thing is that he told him to work the cuts. i guess he doesn't have enough faith in williams actual boxing skill to win the fight.

I think Danny Williams has a chance but i would say on paper it's slim. The thing with Danny is he is unpredictable and 2 different people can turn up to fights. The first is a Danny who is laid back and his mind seems to be elsewhere or you get a focused Danny who is actually quite a aggressive fighter who can cause shocks by exceeding your expectations in him. I have no doubt that he is taking this fight very seriously and i most definatly don't think that he will get blown away easily like most people think too. My prediction is that if Vitali hasn't got rid of DAnny in 5 rounds then there could be a potential upset but the question is will Danny last the first few rounds. He seems to warm up more the longer the fight goes on so it should be interesting.

As we know Lennox hyped Sanders up alot to promote the fight and make Vitali look better than he is. Sanders fought like a warrior but lets face it, he was unfit and looked like a very old fighter. I don't think Lennox hates Vitali at all, i just think in this circumstance that Lennox would like to see a fellow Englishman win the heavyweight crown like most people do from the UK. As for the Vitali and cuts i don't believe Danny should be looking for that, Lennox hit Vitali with some huge hits and the power Lennox hit him with Danny simply doesn't have. I think he could hope for a points decision and a TKO of some kind but i would be really shocked if he KO'd Vitali, w have more chance of Bill Gates giving us all one million each. Of course we all have to keep the open mind that it is boxing and anything can happen.

Well we all know that Lewis retired because he knew that to fight Vitali again would mean that he would retire with a defeat. There was a reason the fans booed Lennox at the end of their fight.

Lennox couldn't help how that fight got stopped against Vitali. Either way if that fight would have continued Vitali was leading BUT could anyone easily say who would have won if it would have gone on? Lennox tagged Vitali with a nasty uppercut and stuff before it got stopped. A points situation can easily turn round in a fight like that. What did Lennox no favours was when he said to Larry after the fight that "I would have knocked him out anyway" because there was no signs of who would have won.

True enough, but I seem to recall Lewis getting "tagged" quite a bit more than Vitali over the course of the fight. So it would only be logical to assume that, as exhausted as Lennox was at the point of the stoppage, and with Vitali dealing out the majority of the damage, it would have eventually been a late round (rnd 10 or 11, imo) kayo for Vitali.

Thats your opinion and i respect it completely, nobody will ever know now what would have happened but we all have our own views on it. That fight had a really entertaining build up too because of all the hype Vitali had. I never expected Vitali to be a last minute opponent when Kirk pulled out. I was really shocked.
