Would Holyfield been intimidated by prime Tyson(86-87)?

Obviously Evander is mentally tough, but after Tyson lost there were a bunch of fighters who werent afraid of him. Since Mike was such a mound of invincibility before he lost and was in his prime... do you think Holyfield would have been scared of that Mike had they fought(Even though Holy was at cruiserweight).

I think Evander would've been one of the ONLY fighters not intimidated by Tyson when he looked invincible. That's just Evander, though. It didn't have to do with Tyson, just that Evander didn't scare.

Guys like Holyfield, Ray Mercer and Oliver McCall just can't be intimidated, it's just not in their nature.

NO. Holyfield isn't even scared of God: if he was, why would he break so many of his own religious laws?

Who is the ***ish guy that does boxing writing or used to for Showtime? the skinny one with glasses?

anyway, he said when the fight was going to happen, Tyson and Evander met face to face to promote the fight, and when they looked eachother in the eyes, not long after, they both cracked up. He said they couldn't keep a straight face because there was no anger between the two, they were like freinds or brothers.

Tyson was **** for the Douglas fight, but it did get him to take fighting a bit more serious. He still didn't move his head much, and was to much of a head-hunter, but was better than his showing for Douglas.

Holyfield wasn't in his prime when he finally met Tyson (nor was Tyson in his), but he was thicker. I think this may have helped in taking Tyson's shots.

At some amature tournament Tyson was bullying people around a pool table . Holyfield got sick of watching it and walked over and grabbed the Q-ball right off of the table as Mike was about too hit it.
This was from a boxing mag I have that interviews one of Holyfield's olympic team mates. I don't think he was being extra nice too Holy because he seemed not too like him very much from what I remember.

That makes like the 8th time i've posted this.

LOL...the story is true from what I hear.

I think this is where Holy "introduced" himself. Was the brutal sparring match after this?

Either way, both had great respect for eachother after and that is why there was no hate between the two when they met face to face in the build up to what should of been the match. *this was before Tyson went to jail.

Believe it or not, I think Tyson seemed to like people that weren't scared of him.

i don't think evander would've been really intimidated. evander seemed more ofr a professional in the ring and didn't seem like the kind of guy that would let intimidation get to him.

you know, tyson intimidated a lot of fighters by knocking out a lot of guys. however, he was KOing people who wouldn't last more than 5 rounds with most any top 10 guys.

and a 1986/87 tyson? ****, tyson was what, 2 years into the pro game then? then again, evander started at a similar date i think.

point is, it's easy to look good against weak opposition. especially if you pack a punch like tysons.

tyson ko'd 19 of his first 20 opponents.

vitali klitschko ko'd 20 of his first 20 opponents.

the difference was the hype/build up by american publicity, especially since tyson was american.

btw, what the hell was the point of this thread again?

But that is his own pain . People with deep depression are less afraid of being harmed by other people because they feel that they in some way deserve too be hurt . The pain inside outweighs any physical which can be delt there for ridding of any fear of physical harm.
