Bernard Hopkins Movie in the works!

Had a chance to chat with B-hop last night. Revealed that he's pumped to get back in the ring. Expects a chess match with Winky.

Outside of boxing, he's in talks with a major movie company to make a movie based on his life. Nothing is set in stone, but he mentioned that rapper "The Game" has been chosen to play the part of B-hop.

I hope this movie can capture the story more than the "Tyson" movie did a few years ago.

The movie will be garbage if some rapper, especially one like the Game, plays Bernard Hopkins. There is no reason not to get an actor. Movies like this, biopics, sink or swim based on the actors cast. Ali was a great movie because Will Smith nailed the part- now imagine that movie starring Young Buck. Please. If Bernard has any sense he'll sell the right to someone who intends to make it a real movie.

Rappers turned actors annoy the hell out of me. They always spoil the film. LL Cool J was just a annoying prick in Deep Blue Sea. DMX was also annoying in that film with Jet Li. Ice Cube has that annoying frown that he keeps pulling in every photo you see him in.

Only exception is Will Smith who happens to be a very funny guy.

Will Smith was an actor before he was a rapper. He was in Fresh Prince, etc. long before his music career- so scratch him off the rapper-turned-actor list.

I don't like this idea. Even though I like rap myself The Game is one of the last people I could see as Hopkins. All those tattoos and Game is taller I believe, and is lighter than B-Hop.

I like the idea of a movie being made about him, but I don't like the idea of The Game playing him.

Bernard can play himself, but this is annoying as well. Movies should be made years down the line, unless the person is dead.

A great movie that was not long after somebody died was "Lenny" with Dustin Hoffman playing Lenny Bruce. Incredible performance by Dustin.

The problem is finding great actors.

                Who could play Bernard?

I would try to find undiscovered talent. Keep searching to find talent, even it is raw talent. No rush.
