It is insulting in 2 respects.

1). Champions should not be taking such fights.

2). Champions should not have to take such fights in order to gain recognition/exposure.

Yeah this fight is a bunch of **** but I would be surprised if it's a real walk over for Calzone. Manfredo's on a bit of a role, he pushed Mora hard especially in the last fight (which I felt he won), and is coming off two really good stoppage wins. I agree that Calzone shouldnt be fighting Manfredo, but I think that he'll do pretty well before losing on points.

I do think that a stoppage win for Joe is a real statement, though. Whoever said that he might not get up for this fight, however, has a good point. Having said that he will never have fought before a crowd this big before, in his home country and with his entire reputation on the line. He may not be fased or motivated by Manfredo but surely the sheer size of the event should see him clear to getting as motivated as possible?
