It will be a good fight and Chico will be able to take the punches at Welter, I'm sure. What I'm not so sure of is if his power will carry. Chico can box and give angles so as long as he doesn't just stand in front of Clottey, I think he can win a comfortable UD.

This is one of those fights where Team Corrales is going to come to their senses and mysteriously pull out of the fight with some rib or wrist injury.

Tough ass fight for Diego and one I dont see him winning.

I'll root for Corrales against anybody except Cotto but i aint sure how he will carry the extra weight - will he be able to take a punch at 147? Will he carry his own punch power up? If he answers these questions positivly, id luv to see him in with Williams or even Tony!

                  i actually disagree.

He obviously isnt the same guy who beat Casamayor II and knocked out freitas.

But he is still a great fighter, and not to far away from what he once was.

What you were watching, even in CASTILLO-CORRALES I, was a fighter DYING to make weight.

Every punch was hurting him, and more and more so as he went on.

Against Freitas, he had a ROCK hard chin.

With this big jump, that chin he had against Freitas will be there, and so will the power he always has.

i think he may even have more power.

The problem is, the WELTERWEIGHT division is SOOOO talented, its hard to see any new comers going far, especially a guy on the downward spiral of his careers.

I think he should stick to fighting top 20 guys, and maybe a few top 10 guys. But nobody at the top, like a mayweather, a mosley, or even a Judah.

Except he should fight Cotto. Cause that would be a war, and im a fan of wars

Fair points, he was solid when he was strong at the weight against POPO! I just cant see him handleing a Berto, Cotto or Zab bomb to the chin, even a Mosley head shot! Like i say tho i hope he ripps it up! (Except Cotto!)

Credit to Corrales for taking such a tough opponent (although I'll believe it's actually happening about 4 days before the bout).

Mosley seems to have really raised the bar in the Welterweight division, & I hope that Corrales follows through.

Give a narrow edge to Corrales if no excuses come out of his camp before the bout
                      - thought that Clottey faded in the Margarito bout not due to his hand injury (they both had injured hands), but because Margarito was getting though more & more as Clottey opened up, & he simply got reluctant to throw.

Chico has heart & determination to spare, & as he showed in the Freitas bout, even if he is a long way behind, he'll just get focused.

Narrow decision win for Corrales, coming from behind to take it in the late rounds is my pick.
