    I agree...I think Stevenson was a better amateur than Savon. I wonder how he would have translated to the pro fight game. I think he would have been in the same league as the heavyweights of that era, ie. Ali, Frazier, Norton, Foreman.

      Yup. The government banned professional athletes, which is why most fighters defect to join US leagues. Baseball and boxing, to be more specific. Casamayor had to defect to fight pro and imo is one of the greatest fighters to ever come from the island, considering what he has done at such a late age in his life. Remember all the hype when Orlando 'Duque' Hernandez came to the Yankees after defecting. Its the only chance those guys have of making any money.

          He does have an iron chin. He was just a kid fighting one of these best amatuer boxers ever. He would have taken many many harder punches as a professional.

          Regarding the Ibeabuchi statement: Ike showed he had all the qualities to be a great heavyweight, and he done it as a pro. There's no comparison at all
