      Also from Jax:

BTW, I aggree... It all started withe Ali

It hit its apex IMO with Prince Naseem Hamed... A fighter of hype and flair who folded like a cheap piece of lawn furniture the first time he steped into the ring with a legitimate, top name opponent... But I believe that it started with Ali.

The thing about Ali that nobody imitating him gets is... That he wasn't pretending to be anyone. He was just being himself. li impersonators like Hamed are pretending they are him.

I think that a lot of would be Ali impersonaters could learn something from that.

So many cross currents, but at the end of the day, I realized I had experienced things and saw injustices in the late 40's, 50's and early 60's to which no young kid should ever be exposed. Back then, Chicago was as racist a city as any in the country and I could not wait to get out. I did and never looked back. As for Ali, I am not a great fan but I certainly understand that he was the Right man for a bad time....and what he did to stand up against the establishment was righteous. I will call BearStearns and talk with him. He was in the Nam and I know where he is coming from but perhaps I can give him another perspective to think about.

          Please straighten him out, Ted.

Bear Stern NEEDS to realize that it would have been INSANITY for any black man in this country AT THAT TIME to go and risk life and limb only so he could come back to eating in the alley. BearStern likely is white and didnt have to deal with such problems, u know? Guys like him ALWAYS look at it from the white perspective

When Tominson of the Chiefs scores a td , he hands the football to the ref. That's old school and is classy. When T.O. scores, he does a back flip and pose, nd that's like trash talking...classless. IMO

Holly, that's precisley my point. A small investment in humility pays big dividends in respect.
