There's a difference when comparing someone like Castillo to someone like Lacy. Lacy had never proven a thing in the ring. He was just really hyped up and people thought he could knock anybody out. Plus, a lot of people felt Calzaghe hadn't really been tested either.

All of the top fighters Floyd has faced have either already done great things before he got to them and/or did great things after he beat them. Lacy hadn't done all the much before Calzaghe, nor has he done much of anything after. It's a huge difference...
No if PBF beat DLH i would give him credit. Because i myself rate DLH even though he lost to a body shot from Hopkins and and a few other fights.
All the top fighters PBF beat have done great things after he beat them. Is that so? I didnt know that. Maybe ive got to research a bit harder and its my own problem. But that is the thing i will have to go out of my way to find out about them. I didnt need to do it for Hatton, Mosely, DLH because i keep hearing it and reading it everywhere that they are good and PBF should box them to prove himself.
To be honest i only discovered who Floyd Mayweather was when he got himself into the top p4p positions alongside Roy Jones. And by the time he done that, i imagine he had already beaten all those supposedly great boxers. So i missed the boat, and that is why i dont know much about them. I didnt follow PBFs career until quite recently you could say.

anyone remember a young HW who was classified as a clown back in the day, he went on to do some great things........
YEAH, WE KNOW HE WAS GOOD TO YOU IN THE PRESS CONFERNCE...

NOW, SERIOUSLY I LIKE FLOYD AS A FIGHTER AND SOMETIMES OUT OF THE RING, BUT I DONT LIKE THAT HE PROCLAIMMS TO BE UNDEFEATED AND TAHT HE THINKS HES THE BEST FIGHTER EVER AND THAT I THINK NIS WHAT MANY PEOPLE THINK, BUT ALMOST EVERYBODY RECOGNISES FLOYD IS ONE OF THE BEST FIGHTERS OF THIS GENENRATION

Poster B: lolz ****** hatr you luzr Floyd is P4P best PWN.

Poster A: Yeah I admit he's the best.

Just because he's a good fighter does that mean people have to like him?
No one actully talks like that though, thats the problem.

And yeah, people hate Floyd because they take a fighters personality way too personally, and they let what Floyd says hurt their feelings.

Well said. I totally agree with this post.

Hatton after his fight with Collazo was honest to himself and the fans.

            See the difference?

Ali " He is going down in the 5th"
            (It happened)

            Mayweather
"He ain't on my level" He doesn't sell out tickets in 3 hours like I do"

            See the difference?

Floyd said he was gonna KO Baldomir.
Did it look like to he even tried doing it?
If I would have seen him go out there and give it his all to keep his word then I would have jumped on the bandwagon.Even if he didn't KO him.

I would respect Floyd more if he would say "I'm gonna out there and box, run a little get in n out and get a decision out of this fight. Not the bull he feeds everyone.
On that same note though, Floyd rematched Castillo, while Hatton did not rematch Collazo.

But you do have a point with Floyds trash talk before the fight.
We know hes going to go out there and box, so he should just ****ing say it.
On the other hand, he is trying to promote his fights. I dont think he actully believes himself when he says "Im going to go out there and knock him the **** out."
            Think about it, you know?
No one is going to want to pay 50 bucks if Floyd says "im going to go out there and outbox him and win a decision."

Close. What will actually happen is that he'll run his mouth so much that people will start willing him to be beat. And when he does get beat people will go "I knew it was just a matter of time before he fought someone good and got his arse handed to him", thus rewriting history and forgetting a damn good boxer he actually was.

Good points and I dont know whats up with the double standards, and why people are hating on him.

I have no problem with that? He's the most skilled fighter in the modern time of the sports and that's being appreciated here but I certainly doesn't approve of the guy's rude bahaviour. Even HYPING has it's limits too buddy.

if floyd beats oscar, i think he will have a legitimate claim to being one of the best p4p fighters in history.
