Teddy Atlas and Mike Tyson doesn't have Heart

I know this must have been brought up a hundred times, but since the Evander Holyfield "Ringside" will be on this week and I didn't get to see the whole thing last time, I know Teddy Atlas (and many others), are going to say why Tyson didn't beat Holyfield, "Tyson had no HEART, He was a BULLY, etc."

Teddy Atlas trained Tyson for HOW LONG, What, a Few Years?
So Tyson has NO HEART because as a kid, who barely had any amateur fights, was still raw and worried about getting his ass kicked by more mature amateurs? Please. Anybody that has ever been in sports, especially contact sports should know that "Heart" is "Confidence." How is "Heart/Confidence" built? THROUGH YEARS OF TRAINING AND GETTING USED TO THE "GAME." IN BOXING, IT IS FIGHTING MORE AND MORE. So your "Heart" can increase as you continue to Win, building your Confidence up.
Yes, not everybody has the same level of "Heart/Confidence."
However, how did TYSON ever win the amount of fights and become Champion at 20 years old if he did not have "HEART"?

**** Teddy Atlas on this topic. When he and others say it, I really wonder if he is saying it to boost his own Manhood up, or is he ONLY comparing Tyson's heart to other Warriors?
Ex: I myself might say, "Zab Judah doesn't have a great chin". However, does that mean I am trying to up my own ego by thinking this person (Zab) has been knocked down several times, he sucks? NO, not at all. I am saying, at a PRO ELITE level of boxing, Zab does not compare with other fighters that have a better chin. Thus, acknowledging that if I were in there, I would get KTFO, but on a judging/critic of his ability vs. others at that level, he is not at the top. So, I am not saying to booster my own testicles, since I know I will get my ass beat down from the fighters that Zab is facing, but like I said, judging him vs. others at that level, this is my opinion.

    Let us question Teddy's "Heart/Confidence":

I dont remember him saying Tyson had no heart. He does say Tyson was mentally weak though. If you read Atlas' book, you will get a good idea of the whole situation.

I am not a huge Tyson fan; however, I don't think that Tyson can be labeled as not having a heart. He didn't react well under the pressure that Holyfield put on him, and, not having an answer for Holyfield, he bit him. That doesn't speak to his lack of heart as much as it does to his animalistic nature. The beating that he stood in for against Lennox shows his heart, as does, to a lesser extent, his loss against Douglas. Again, I am not a Tyson apologist, and I dislike many of the things he has done, mostly outside of the ring, but I won't label him as a boxer who doesn't have heart.

I will have to read it.

          How is Tyson "Mentally weak"?

He might not be the "Strongest" of the "Strong" mentally, but you can't be "Mentally Weak" and get to where he went.

So if Tyson is Mentally weak, what does that make Teddy Atlas?

Tyson's "Confidence" wasn't there after prison. Even in the interview with Tyson in jail, Tyson says he was "Bored" with boxing for "4 years."
The interview was in 1992 (if I am not mistaken), and -4 years means he didn't have the Passion for boxing since 1988. It's hard enough to Box, it's even harder to go through the motions.

Tyson new he wasn't ready for anybody of Top level after prison without 1-2 years of hard training. He said this many times, "I need more fights and more time to get myself back into top shape." But what happened? Tyson was pressured by Don King and the Boxing World to move faster.

Although Atlas was correct in his prediction of Holyfield-Tyson II, his opinions on Tyson should generally be taken with a grain of salt due to their past. I'd hate Tyson too if I were Atlas.

Tyson showed heart in some fights, quit or went crazy in some others. What I think was a weakness in him in his losses to Douglas and Holyfield (first bout) was that he was frustrated and impatient. He relied too much on his bombs and his corners, which didn't exactly give him the best advice. At least Rooney helped him when he was having problems in some of his fights (Tucker) or getting lazy (Thomas before round 6).

Atlas is an overrated trainer anyway.

man, i say **** atlas's opinion on dozens of different things.

you'll get used to it and start to view it as almost comical after a while.

Atlas tells stories of early in Tyson's career and how if he hadn't knocked a guy out in 2 rounds he started to doubt himself and consider quitting. His trainers had to be on him the whole time to keep his confidence up.

well he is mentally weak because he does thing radomly and you cant really predict what he is going to do outside of the ring like the **** of the black peageant queen and stuff like that shows it. that is why it hard for people to give him shot at acting because they guy would do anything and you cant really control him.

another thing i agree with Atlas if Tyson didnt have heart because part of Tyson was using his full power and force and if he cant hurt somebody he will be discourge and if he got knockdown the he i dont think he will stand up even if he could.

he is a bully a person who is actully trying to **** and small girl is a bully and a person who say wanna fight a gorrialla to see how strong he is is some what type of bullying. and when he KOed on of his oppenet and he said that he was screaming like a ***** is a bully. boxing image is ruined from Tyson if you dont see.

another thing when he fought Holyfield Holyfield stood up in front of him and it was hard for Tyson to hurt him so Holyfield paybacked him by KOing him.

you could say what you want about him but Tyson himself doesnt like himself and hate himself and disrespect himself what do you think other people would see.

but i gotta say he was power and had a good chin just by looking at his neck.
