Totally agree with that. Also Fran Charles should be led to the slaughterhouse. He is dreadful. As well, the shobox announcers suck big time. They did a brutally horiific job on the Stark-Oliver fight. Also, Max Kellerman's hype is way over the top and when he talks, his eyeball almost pop out! Christ, where is Howard Cosell when we need him. Merchant is senile and mean spirited. If I had to choose one word to describe him, it would be "constipated." Thank God for the mute button!

Nah that was a vicious beatdown no matter how you look at it. I couldn't believe how many posters on this site wanted to find some consolation for Gatti in it.

But I think I will watch Taylor's fights with the sound off, or with British commentary from now on.

        I dont care about commentry.

With Calzaghe - Lacy, or Benn - McClellan, i wanted to hear what both the british and american commenators said, and how they compared.

Personally i like Merchant, and cant stand Foreman. British commentry is fine, but they try a liitle too hard to get as excited as the americans.

And its not ONLY for boxing.

Hockey: "DO you believe in miracles YES!"

College Football: "He did it, he did it, Flutie did it!"

Baseball: "I dont believe... What I just saw."

All these Lines make those particular games very easy to recognize because you have that image of the US hockey team celebrating, Doug Flutie jumping around, And Kirk Gibson Pumping his arms.

I think a great call does everything in turning a great sports moment, into a legendary one

might wanna add "Down goes tyson" to that list im sure anyone can picture tyson getting leveled by dougless from that line
