I know the Corrales-Castillo fight wouldn't have been the same without the great commentary, especially at the end...

"INCREDIBLE!!! EBB AND FLOW!!!...AND THE FIGHT...IS...OVER!!!!"

I usually avoid the commentary, I think it can be very biased and misleading.

I'm quite attached to HBO's boxing team. Kellerman is a consumate professional and will go very far in the sport. Lampley is the middle aged veteran who is just a little biased at times. Merchant is the old guy at ringside who tells it as it is. It may not always be "as it is" to YOU, but it's always "as it is" to him. And that's very admirable if you ask me.

Plus you can't forget his witty puns, delayed pauses in speech, etc... I will miss this HBO team when it's gone. I just wish they weren't such open ball-suckers of the HBO "staples".

I actually dont like Kellerman too much. Lampley and Merchant are the best tag team out there.

I felt the very same way about the dude when he first started out. Now I really have grown to like him and I respect him a lot. I think part of my hatred for him at first was because I wasn't ready to see a "new guy" in with that old familiar team that Lampley and Merchant had.

Very simply, if the network has a multi-fight contract with a fighter or is looking to secure a multi-fight contract with a fighter they consider a potential "star".......the commentary is going to favour him. No if's, and's, or but's about it.
