I think it's because Mosley generated more excitement last night than Hatton did against Urango. Hatton was one punch and then clinch. Mosley was combination and then clinch. Plus his clinches were more spaced out then Hatton's. Hell Hatton clinched Urango without even throwing a punch at times.

I'm a Hatton fan but every Hatton fan has to admit that he hasn't exactly been exciting lately and isn't the same fighter he was before the Tszyu fight.

And the thing is Hatton says he fights like a Mexican and always puts on a exciting non-stop fight,****,he even gets called the White Mexcan,but based on his last 2 performances,hes been anything but that,yeh he does come foward but he holds TOO MUCH,its getin bad

Thats a fair point, when u bill urself Mr Excitement u should deliver! I luv em and thought the 1st 5 rounds against Urango were fun but he needs to raise his game a lil bit

The difference is Mosley clinches when he and an opponent get in close and its the best thing to do. There are times when its going to happen in a boxing match. Hatton on the other hand throws a punch and immediately grabs his opponent. He's not trying to box, he's trying to hit and grab.

Mosley honestly looked better than Hatton. Mosley looked very fast and real sharp. I'm not one of the people bashing Hatton. Hatton got the victory. Urango fought like ****. If he did something significant Hatton's fight would've been better.

those are loooong clinches? i counted way more short clinches and waaaay more clinches that hatton freed himself from, then long clinches...

To answer the topic...I believe it's because people recognize the truth.

Shane is a true warrior.He has fought the best,won some and lost some.
He is a fighter's fighter.

Hatton on the other hand has fought few name oponents,and as he has stepped up in competition has looked more and more like a fraud.
He was life and death with the Collazo,seems vunerable and is not the star that he was supposed to be.

What will now happen to Hatton is,he will fight more nobodies or guys on the downside of their boxing life,like Castillo.

I think alot of hate on this forum of Hatton is because of this.Hatton is not on the same level as a Mosley,PBF,Winky or any of the true champions.
But his fans and some of the powers that be would like all of us to except him as such.

There is a reason why he will never be in a truly mega-fight with Shane or PBF,simply...he is not worthy.

But to answer the question...Shane's minimal holding was strategy,Hatton was holding on for dear life.

In the first 5 rounds vs URANGO, Hatton clinched less then MOSLEY did in the first 5 rounds against collazo... undoubtedly actually.

I personally dont have a problem with mosleys clinching at all. He doest do it that often and he does it after a great combination.

But ingnoring hattons misrable and horrendously boring 2nd half against URANGO, Hattons clinches are quicker, and he more often then not frees himself from the clinches.

Mosleys clinches are long and the ref always seperates them.

Again, it wasnt that bad because he didnt do it that often, but he did clinch more then hatton did in those first 5 rounds of each fight.

I guess its just MORE proof of the HATTON hate on this forumn, which is completely uncalled for and there is almost zero reason for...

Mosley convincingly beat a proven opponent by alot.
He clinched effectivly, never pushing the referee's limits like Hatton did late against Collazo and Urango.
Plus, this fight was alot more exciting than the Urango one.

What are u talking about. i hate it when people say hattons holding isnt stradegy. thats enourmous bias right there.

Hatton wears his guys down. He usually has such great stamina that he wrestles with guys until they give up.

It wears them down mentally and physically. Its discouraging.

Wheres the stradegy in mosleys Clinching. Its so he doesnt get hit. Nothing wrong with that, but there is WAAAAAAAAY more stradegy in HATTONS clinching then MOSLEYS clinching. no doubt about it.

And HATTON is fighting CASTILLO because he is one of the best 140 pounders out there right noew, who certainly has the attributes to give hatton a hard time,

AND ITS A FIGHT THE FANS HAVE BEGGED SEE FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW!!!!
