I could understand and respect your other points but your wrong here. Cotto has always come in top shape. If Cotto wasn't always in great shape then he wouldn't have even made weight his last few fights at jrWW. Cotto's apparent lack of conditioning was more due to cutting weight than to his dedication and training habits. You can see how more freely Cotto let his hands go at 147lbs than he was for his last few fights at jrWW.
Mosley vs Cotto

too many idiots like this guy on these forums really bring things down a notch. Please stop wasting everyone's timeComment

Actually over the course of his last few fights I thought Cotto has made great strides towards improving his defense. Interestingly both Cotto and Mosley have had similiar opponents in their last fights: Collazo and Quintana. Collazo I think being the better of the twoComment

that short reach means some huge punching power......Those midget arms will prolly win him this fighta one armed mosley could beat a cotto(except in P.R.).
man, cotto isnt that big of a name outside of P.R and on the coasts.
the guy is good but with his midget 66inch reach and at this time unproven boxing skills(look who he's fought) he has slightly more than a little chance against top contenders at 147.
and i like him but i'm not going to suck on a pipe dream.
he's almost top tier now but with the bigboys at welter he's just a name that could bring them easier money than facing each other.period.Comment

Cotto is the harder puncher more deliberate of the two but Shanes foot speed and movement could cause him some problems, although he dealt with Quintana's good movement very well.

Reach can be an advantage but its subjective look at Duran he was 5'7 66 inch reach never really was an issue except against Tommy hearns, But Tommy is a physical freak with a 78 inch reach at 6'1 an had crazy power.Last edited by freedom213; 02-11-2007, 03:12 PM.Comment
