MMA/NHB fighting has been around for a very long time. Longer than most think or choose to believe and it does date back to the early Olympics with Pankration fighting.

MMA isn't going anywhere, for anybody who thinks that this is a passing fad.

      I think you're a ****ing douche.

Too early to tell. If it is marketed properly and some stars are introduced with some staying power that fans can get into then it will help the sport immensly. Idealy UFC gets abolished and Pride's popularity is sky rocketed somehow... Most likely in my opinion it will stay around for another year or two before fading out somewhat (in particluar the UFC).

The fact that it made it to US about 10 years ago means absolutely nothing..
and those of you saying that it's "just a fad and will die out soon, cant compete with boxing " are just ignorantly blind..

All fights are PPV and these PPV are kicking boxing's ass so lets not get into this. There has been 1001 thread in this NSB forum with titles like "is MMA taking over Boxing?" "Why is Boxing popularity dropping" and many many more..

Bottom line MMA was introduced to US and it is here to stay like Pizza!
Ask an Asian from Asia if boxing will last in there countries and they will most likely say no and that MMA is way better.. so they are biased as well. Everyone is biased, it's the way **** works. Quit hopping on the mexican band wagon who calls racism and prejudice after anything is said.
