Is MMA,UFC,Pride a Fad?? or will it last like Boxing has??

After Floyds comments during an interview where he said MMA and all that is just a current "fad" (meaning a current trend that will die out soon) - Im just wondering how the knowledable posters on BS feel about it...

Will MMA, UFC, Pride survive on the long run and build history the way boxing has and will continue to do so, or is it really a FAD that will slowly die down in the near future???

    Your votes please.

Pride will survive because it's so big in most Eastern countries.. UFC won't. As a matter of fact, I see Pride fighting becoming way more popular once it hit's it big in America (hopefully). Boxing will always last though.. it just needs to market there fighters better and make it so an everyday sports fan knows the name of certain boxers (must like QB's for Football, etc.) **Other than Muhammad Ali .. and that's it.))

UFC is a product which will be dropped as soon as it stops making money for Zuffa. Zuffa owns UFC, nobody owns boxing.

Pride is a japanese phenomenon, and is wildly popular there. It is still a product though. MMA may last but it's hard to see how because it's simply not that exciting once the novelty has worn off.

i think most viewers of the MMA are mostly kids at age 14 who listen to hardrock and stuff like that i dont know but once those kids grow up and have a job it could fad away

Actually, UFC has been around for years and its getting more popular as time goes along. It is here to stay as long as there is a fan base for it. Just like hockey.

I voted for it to last because there are too many boxing matches falling through and fighters being stripped that it's gonna send fans away, and they will go to UFC/MMA
