It continues to rise, will peak, will decline in popularity eventually (and maybe rise again) but not go completely away...

      Pride? Yes. UFC? Perhaps.

But to be honest if UFC does well I think its a better sign for boxing as its a fighting art. It's not like people are going to forget about boxing lol.

The more people interested in UFC= The more people that will also look into boxing. UFC could get people into boxing who would never have bothered to watch it before.

rampage has a boxing background, that may get more people interested in boxing once he starts kicking ass in the UFC

I wouldnt mind seeing a BIG NAME crossover, say in the next 5 years, a top guy in boxing, perhaps a World Champ crossing over to try out UFC.

Then the opposite, a UFC champ that comes over to boxing to contend for a World Title.

Would be interresting to get an idea of the different levels of competition.

I say it could go either way.......wait until a couple of deaths occur and people start making noise about it.....and then we will see.I for one don't think any of that **** even compares with Boxing.......Boxing is easily the best one on one combat sport IMO.

Boxing is the greatest sport on the planet.

                  I do not like MMA.

I have respect for Pride. Those are top athlete's and fighters.

UFC doesn't do it for me for several reasons.

(It doesn't do it for Chuck Norris either.)

But I understand they are now closer linked than ever.

MMA is only getting stronger. The writing is on the wall.

Most things that have life right now are here to stay.

There's enough "people" out there to give a reasonable market to almost anything.

(In case nobody has noticed; there's about 900 TV channels now.)

It's a fad. Just like that **** on spike TV, forgot what it was called but it combined basketball and trampolines.

                    Slamball LOL
