There seems to have been a weird anti-backlash for Lewis of late. He was never considered in the top 5 when he was fighting, so maybe the crap state of the division since his departure has made people think more highly of him than they used to and clouding their judgement. Hindsight working in reverse if you like.

He was a solid boxer, great technician with good overall skills, but he was complacent and got troubled far more than he needed to in his career by people who should not have caused a top 5 all time heavyweights the problems that they did.

Retiring with the belt and unifying the titles were both great achievements. But they shouldnt be overrated.

He wasnt knocked out, he was up at 6, the ref stopped the count at 8, Larry Holmes was in the same condition when he got up from Shavers knockdown, he got the benifit of the doubt, Evander holyfield got up at 9 and a half against Bowe and was given until 15 before the ref waved the fight on!!!! What about Ai needing an extra minute in his corner and some smelling salts to recover from being knocked down by henry cooper.
