Not really..Although I do have a weakness for Irish fighters.

Does the nationality of a boxer matter to you?

I am more interested in British fighters as there's more opportunities for me to actually watch them fight rather than watching it a few days later on You Tube or something. Also, if a British fighter like David Haye were to fight someone from abroad then I would always want the British fighter to win because I want the standard of boxing in this country to be as good as it can possibly be. But would I hate on a boxer cos of where he is from? Absolutely not. Fighters like Edwin Valero, Manny Pacquaio, Oscar De La Hoya, Erik Morales, Travis Simms, Floyd Mayweather, Jose Luis Castillo, Diego Coralles, Kostya Tszyu, Glen Johnson - they all make boxing what it is and I like them all as fighters. And as I said, if a Brit is fighting someone from abroad then I would want the Brit to win but I hate seeing robberies. Like when Glen Johnson came over to fight Woods the third time, it ruined my night the way the decision went. I was looking forward to it for weeks, bought my tickets months in advance, yet when the decision was announced it put a downer on the whole thing. Fighters go through more than any other athletes for their sport and it's ****e when they get robbed, wherever they are from

Surely it just comes down to their style and skill as a fighter.
For me, living it the UK, it never mattered. I always wanted Tyson to beat the outa Bruno, and was never a huge fan of Lewis. It just came down to styles.
To me, it does because that's what boxing is about. It's not about Sacramento versus LA, it's about Mexican versus Filipino, Puerto Rican versus Black dude. As Dmitriy Salita told me, "Boxing's an ethnic sport so rivalries fuel interest in boxing."
Boxing is one man versus another, the personification of conflict and competition. This is the allure of boxing.

Yes, it matters to me to a certain extent. Yes, I prefer American fighters. But race is more important then nationlity to me. I'll cheer a British BLACK boxer over an American White boxer. Unless if the British Black fighter dislikes Americans then **** him, I'll go with the AMerican White guy under those circumstances.
