Ive only seen the incidents when Lewis was knocked out by Mcall and Rahman once. I kind of think the ref could have let him continue to see how he would have reacted. If he got knocked down again then so be it but i think boxers should be the opportunity to be able to continue. If you look at the olden days when fighters got knocked down and while the ref is giving the count the other boxer is standing right next to the ref ready for the next attack.
We have been denied what could have been a diffeerent result had the ref let Lewis continue. Lewis was good defensively and maybe he would have got on his bike. We dont know now.Comment

I used to hate Lewis, but am starting to think quite a lot better of him of late. His chin was ok, not great but not the glass chin many think it to be. The problem was his heart and his mentality. He became complacent too often which led to him getting hit hard when he shouldnt have. When he was hit hard, he didnt take it especially well and it often threw him wildly off his game plan. Sometimes (like with Briggs) he was able to cover up wisely and get back into the fight. Othertimes, he just hit the deck and wasnt able to fight on.
It was good enough to get him through most blows, but any on the button and he went to pot.Comment

Lewis didnt have a bad chin, down just twice in his career, its not like they were the only shots he ever took! Even in the first Rahman fight he took that right hand several times before the ko shot. One of them landing 30 seconds before the ko, im sure that shot did hurt him and led to him dropping his hands. These punches in this video should of put him down at least if he was that weak chinned, remember people talk today about tua, briggs, klitschko being the hardest hitters out there!

** It's the "but" part that needs correcting Pops. Lewis only KOed once from a single punch, the first Rahman fight. He was up by the count of 6 against McCall their first match and ready to fight. Sure, he bumped up against the ref, but it's not like McCall actually laid him out for the count.
Tyson thought Lewis had a glass jaw which was the only reason Tyson took the fight. After a few bombs and Lewis was still standing after the 1st round, Tyson knew he was in for a beatdown since Tyson was no longer a championship fighter.Comment
