The term"African-American" is starting to creep into usage in Canada. A friend of mine hates it. SHe was called "African Canadian" and she went ballistic. "I'm no African!" she said "I'm Jamaican!". Most of the black guys I know in Britain or in Canada prefer the term "black" to any erronious geographical placing. I mean I don't go calling myself European Canadian!

You are not Euro-Canadian.....instead you would be called Anglo-Canadian.

The negritos native in the P.I. came originally from Africa. They travelled by boat and reached the islands looooooong time ago.

Thats what they are called though. They are native tribal Filipinos and are called negritos. That is the scientific name for that tribe in the P.I. Negro is a spanish word for black. Not to be confused with the derogatory use of the word by white people. It is just a spanish word for that color. If a spanish person ever calls you Negro with a spanish accent, not knee-gro with a American accent, he is just referring to your color. Nothing racial about it.
