Couldn't agree more!!! That is why that UFC **** thinks they are going to take off because people like him are holding down boxing.

I don't really know too much about Don King, other than the basic stuff. So tell me, did he ruin any fighter's careers? Did he come anywhere close to ruining any careers? Or was this guy just talking out of his ass like he seems to do most of the time?

Edit-Ehhh ****ed up the title. Oh well.

At least 50% of the boxers that have signed with Don have ended up filing lawsuits against him. As to whether he has "ruined" anybody's career is a matter of definition.

Don King is a very intimidating, and persuasive man, but fighters are well within their rights if they don't want to work with him, and there is no written rule that says fighters have to work with Don King, but at one time he was the best Promoter in the world (and he would claim to still being the best) and fighters wanted to work with him because they wanted more money, but the bottom line is that the only important person to Don King is Don King.
That right there is why I have a hard time feeling bad for anyone who has "had their career ruined". They choose to work with King.

The Barbershop franchise jumped the shark with that one. I bet Ice Cube wore dark glasses and a wig when he cashed that check. It did make the Kevin Bacon game a little more accessible for the hood genre film, though, and provide me with 1/4 of my sig...

I do feel bad for some of the boxers that Don King has taken advantage of as they have obviously worked hard to get some form of recognition as a boxer, and of course many don't have a great knowledge regarding the financial aspects of the game. But like i've stated, Don King is very persuavive and is reknowned for taking advantage of easily lead, or ill advised fighters. Mike Tyson is a glaring example for those who have reservations about working with Don King, yet Mike Tyson has never stopped Don King's continued success, and Mike Tyson is as much to blame himself for how his relationship with Don King turned out.

Wow I had no idea that Beauty Shop was even part of the Barber Shop franchise.

I was reading a book call "Coming To America" in the library today and it was all about Don King. The last chapter on that book was devoted to how King ruined Tim Weatherspoon's career. I was so pissed off at Timmy.
