Pavlik is too raw for the top Middleweights

Yup, just like the title says. After watching two of Pavlik's fights (Zertuche and McKart), I was searching for a word to describe him. I didn't want to use amateurish, because that's not really it. He's just too raw and green and while he would have a puncher's chance against Abraham, Miranda, Wright, and Taylor, I doubt he'd be able to beat them more than 1 time out of 10. I'd pick any of those to beat Pavlik by UD (Taylor and Wright) or KO (Miranda and Abraham).

I'd love to see him fight either Miranda or Abraham just to get this guy off of everyone's hype list.

I think hes good, hes got a great arsenal of punches,a nice left uppercut, great jab, great right, hes definatly got that raw KO power, his defence is good but it could be better,i can say d same for Jermain Taylor,he aint got no defence at all, keeps his hands too low, aint got great stamina, and dont hardly use the jab anymore,Pavliks got more in his arsenal then Jermain, but Jermains faster,IMO Pavlik can hang with the top middleweights,i like Pavlik and Miranda, these 2 are the most exciting in the division, and there power is amazing,id love to see a rivalry between Miranda Abraham and Pavlik,****,even John Duddy could be great in the mix

The problem with Pavlik is the way he throws his punches. Some of them look like they're lazy punches and any good counterpuncher (like Wright) would exploit that weakness to no end. He also telegraphs too much which leaves himself open and off balance.

He's a nice guy, tho, and seems like he's go good character and is good for boxing, but I don't think he has the skill to be up at the top. Not yet, anyway.

he is quite a puncher. with one punch he seperated zertuche from his consiousness. Impressive!

That is one for the highlight reels, and possibly KO of the year eh?

He cannont have his defensive lapses against anyone that can hit. He always needs to use his jab more often to set up his big right hand.

I think at the moment Miranda would knock him out, but look for him to have a title shot in the future( when he improves on his boxing skills.)

the only thing raw about him is he drops his defense occasionally. other than that, theres nothing green about him.

****, jermain taylor's 10x more green than pavlik and taylor the "undisputed" MW champion.

What are you talking about? How the hell is this kid Pavlik raw?? If anyone's raw, its Miranda and Taylor they are the ones with inferior technical ability. Pavlik is a real good combination puncher with a good head on his shoulders. He would beat most of the top guys minus Winky, Taylor and maybe Abraham - that fight is pick'em.

You are talking out of your ass like usual.

That's not the only thing raw about him. The way he throws his punches looks like he doesn't know how to aim them but just swings hoping to hit somewhere. Also, some might say that he "varies his speed" when he throws but it seems to me more like he slows down as he tries to measure his opponent. That's very dangerous against anybody who's in the top 5 right now.

See above. He might have a good combination every once in a while, but his form is HORRIBLE at best. He really looks amateurish sometimes when he throws and he admires his punches too much, too. He'll connect a right hand and just look at the other guy to see if he hurt him. A half-way decent counter-puncher will just eat this guy up for lunch.

In reality, the top middleweights (Taylor, Miranda, Abraham) are all very raw.
