It's gonna suck not having to watch Arturo Gatti fight after that....He will go down as one of the most memorable fighters in boxing!

Gatti isnt washed up like many seem to think. He still has a lot in the tank. But he's been in so many wars, that its definetly time to hang 'em up.
He still has a lot left in the tank? The way he went down against Baldomir, just that defeated demeanor in which he just kind of crumpled from the cumulation of too many wars, states otherwise. Gatti is finished.

Hot Topic, If you watched the entire Gatti- Baldomir fight, you would know Gatti actually had a great fight and would have won the fight had he not started trading heavily in rounds 8+9. I was at the fight live and many people had Gatti winning or the fight even going into the 9th round. Even Buddy McGirt was telling Arturo to go to the jab and out maneuver Baldomir, but everytime the damn crowd starts chanting Arturo gets ****** into brawling. The fact was Baldomir was just too big for Arturo and his punches didn't hurt him very much. Arturo is a fringe welterweight, and only has a chance against naturally lighter opponents. People who are like 180lbs walking like Baldomir are just too much to trade blows with. He could go toe to toe with Salita in my opinion.

I did see the entire fight with Baldomir, and even though Gatti was landing punches, I still could read the body expressions of Gatti that were saying negative things about the fight itself. Gatti knew he was in trouble and just from the progression of the fight, it wasn't going in his favor. You can do whatever you want for 9 rounds, but it's a 12 round fight.

gatti looked great in the baldy fight, but his ability to take the extended amount of punishment i believe has decreased over the years

I HATE it when people say this. I just got done reading an article about this as well. from an old RING MAGAZINE.

The guy even says that gatti has a lot left in the tank. But he says the talent in the Welterweight division is so good, that he doesnt need to be washed up in order to retire.

He has more then enought to compete very well, and win, against a guy like salita.

He has plenty left in the tank, and more then enough to fight one last time.

Its wierd that a guy like you fails to see that
