I agree with Black Jesus and Diego Fuego on this one. Hatton isn't washed up but he's fighting boxers that aren't as inferior to him as he's feasted on in the past. His reputation I bet took a hit after his 2 fights in the US. HBO built him up as a good/exciting fighter but he's failed to deliver as they marketed. He struggled heavily with Collazo & clinched his way to a victory over Urango.
Hatton Is Not Washed Up

As overrated as Hatton, is he is still a durable , tough fighter for anyone out there in the 140 division. Only now though he's on the American Stage facing better opposition against two skilled southpaws who would give anyone trouble.
Another thing why I like him is because he seems to be such a nice , down to earth honest guy. That nice guy attitude is why he is in my good books. If he was a prick I probably would not like him.
Overrated yes but he is not garbage like some of you posters are claiming he is.Comment

Well just a minor point to elaborate on what Bonafide has said is that Hatton is always himself and doesn't play up to an image like 90% of fighters. Listen to his interviews/press conferences and you'll see that he's just a normal guy who happens to dedicate himself to this sport.Comment

I mean Ruiz was boring but successful, but nobody is a Ruiz fan. Hatton is heading down that road and I am being serious. It's getting to where he just isn't fun to watch. I'll take Mayweather hitting Baldomir at will and shying away from 10-12 counter punches at a time over Hatton missing a punch and clinching any day of the week.Comment

Hatton got a wide decision and did what he was supposed to do to a top ten fighter who was undefeated. He took care of him convincingly.
Judging Hatton solely on what he does 'wrong' in some of you guys' (very biased) eyes is a mistake.Comment

hattons got to do something about weight gain inbetween fights. his punches look a little weaker and his dehydrated brain is going to get rattled easier. he looks like he's 40. figure this "washed up "(not) fighter will beat castillo.Comment

how you win is very important especially in the eyes of fans who you want to buy your fights. holding and hitting is not going to get it done in the USHatton got a wide decision and did what he was supposed to do to a top ten fighter who was undefeated. He took care of him convincingly.

No, just the people who defend Hatton and Calzaghe for ducking big fights their whole careers. They are stellar fighters, but they are cowards at heart and nothing can convince me otherwise. If they weren't, Calzaghe would have a big win on his resume and Hatton would have accepted the Mayweather fight either of the times it was offered.Comment
