Once again, I don't know why weight is always the issue in these cases.

Why can't it be that Hatton faced a slick southpaw that gave him a type of fight that he's never had before? That's what it was.

    Weight Schmeit.

We all know what 'getting up' for a fight means to a fighter. Castillo was clearly demotivated for the fight. He'll be up for Ricky, no doubt.
corrales didnt look great in his last outing losing to casa. Its not unreasonable to think those two have seen better days.

Good post... I'm surprised that the "Hatton has no skills" brigade are still out in force after that performance. Clearly he's no Mayweather, but the guy can box...

Why didn't Hatton say that then? He's been bitching to anyone that will listen that he didn't have enough time to prepare, didn't want to move up to welterweight in the first place, feels he's too small, etc. Hatton has never given credit to Collazo. He just goes straight into a laundry list of excuses...

I expected to see more though honestly.I thought the urango fight would be a showcase for Ricky.

ben rabbah is a boxer but hes no mayweather,he handled Urango pretty well and I expected ricky to rough him up honestly after all this talk about how much better he loooked and how stronger he was oing to be back @140.

Man, at this point in his career, why is he taking these tuneups against fighters that as you say "are hard to look good against", id rather watch Hatton blast out some bum, then take these average fights in which he looks ****ing terrible and then takes another tuneup just to look just as bad, as his corner tells him TIE HIM UP MATE, HES COMING LIKE A TRAIN, TIE HIM UP.

Hattons "boxing" was ****ing boring for the first 5/6 rounds, then he just clinched from then on. As boring as the second half of PBF's fight was with Baldomir, at least he was clearly beating the **** out of him for the first 6 or 7 before he just pot shotted. but even pot shotting is more fun than clinching frankly, although both tend to be boring. Even still, Floyd was injured, Hatton had no excuse. You wanna come to america and impress, then ****ing fight the guy.

The fact is, watching hatton is getting worse and worse, and what sucks for me, is that watching him take on guys on showtime had me very high on him, he did alot of things i liked, but now, hes doing things i hate, and winning ugly and looking less and less appealing.

Bling! Bling! Bling! Yup, and yet some people here pictures the guy as if he's one hell of a "super fighter".

I'm not going to argue with this post because it's true.

Hatton taking fights that are aesthetically pleasing to the majority of fight fans is something that comes by way of Castillo.

I'm pretty sure the people who set up the double header last Saturday are kicking themselves.....see. They picked guys they figured would give Castillo and Hatton JUST enough trouble so that they'd "showcase" what they had for the prospect fight between the two.

The only funny thing is it totally backfired in both cases. Ngoudjo was too damn skilled on the inside LOL for Castillo to manhandle.....and Urango was like a Rock forcing Hatton to adjust on the outside and display his boxing abilities. Those boxing abilities and JLC not being able to hurt Ngoudjo are obviously not good selling points for JLC v.s. Hatton.

Hit the nail on the head for me.

He's not washed up, he's just fighting live bodies outside of his hometown, though I don't think Urango can be considered a live body.
