Somehow he got up by Kenny Bayless's count of 9; but Peter rushed in and caught him with a murderous left hook that knocked him cold and almost under the ropes.

I couldn't figure for the life of me why I was dreaming about Vitali fighting again. Now I get it.

did the dream give you a hard on?

I have always been impressed with Vitali since he proved his mettle with Lewis. He proved in that fight, and in his next few others for his retirement, that he has a great chin, fighting spirit, workrate, and a heavy punch in each hand. His upperbody movement and athleticism are severely underrated by most fans, look how adeptly and smoothly he slips punches and counters in the Williams fight. Very good body movement for a guy that size. Does he beat a prime Lewis or Bowe? Not sure, but I don't think anyone can say for certain that he couldn't.

Vitali may be the most impressive heavyweight over 6'5" I've seen in my life. He was the complete package for what you could expect for a man that size. He had skill, speed, good stamina, and relatively quick hands for his size. The chin was there so even if he had a lapse in concentration or just made a ****** mistake, the chances of him ending up like Lewis seem unlikely.

Wlad is the flashier fighter but Vitali is better. Vitali does not have any glaring weaknesses except being injury prone. Who knows if he's still championship material but at the time he retired he was the best of the bunch IMO.

LOL!!!! Hardly. Now, if it had been Lamon Brewster....

Seriously, I've got nothing against Vitali. I just think fair is fair and if he wants to get back into the mix, fine; but he doesn't deserve any priveledges. If he thinks he's still at the top, let him beat a Top contender and then get a shot at the Maskaev-Peter winner.

I would prefer that Peter fights Maskaev and if Peter wins (highly likely) Peter then would have to defend against Vitali and see Vitali rip Peter to shreds once and for all.

......Great news if it's true!!!! Wlad and Vitali bring excitement and knockouts and having them around is a good thing. Since he gets the immediate shot they can realize their dream of holding titles at the same time. HBO can revive that commercial where they talk about world domination in an Austin Powers type skit.

.....I would kind of rather see Vitali fight Peter now that you mention it.

                  No, no it's not.

Peter's chin is a million times better than Williams.

To be fair, Williams was taking hard shots all night long and he survived into the eighth.

Peter/Klitschko would be a tough fight but I think Klitschko would win, but on points. Peter is certainly better than Danny Williams, but I think both the Klitschko's are better than him...

As a side not, do people think that Wlad would want Vitali to come back? He must be pretty pleased to be world champ and considered the best. If his bro comes back and gets a couple of belts then neither of them will ever be considered the best as they wont fight each other. I know they always say its their dream to be champ together but boxing is an individual sport, and I'm sure deep down both have the desire to be recognised as the best in the word

Peter has one hell of a chin but Wlad exposed it with a left hook that I am sure was extremely heavy but did not look devastating. Oh how I wished Wlad went in for the kill and put Peter down. But I can understand Wlad fighting conservatively especially since it was the final minute and a half of the fight. In Vitali's case, Vitali would stop Peter with an accumulation of punches instead of that one good hard/heavy shot.
