of course, there's "im fair but im firm" joe cortez, who has made so many bad calls, and jay nady with his salute and ****** smile whenever introduced as the third man in the ring makes you wonder he's going to screw the fight.

Any reasonable fan or boxing expert will tell you Steve Smoger is the best in the business. He's pretty much the only guy I can't recall ****ing up big time. Cortez is close, but he ruled Pacquiao's cut from a punch in the first Morales fight, which was a horrendous call.

I think a better question is who is the worst referee, your least favorite?

Is it the guy from Lewis-Tyson, who was trying to help Mike? Is it Jay Nady, who lets some fighters get murdered (Fernando Vargas vs. Felix Trinidad) and saves others who are completely fine (Derrick Gainer vs. Diego Corrales)? Is it Richard Steele, who has become notorious for stopping fights too early (although I don't recall any early stoppages other than Tyson-Ruddock I)?
