Yeah but what he's saying is if he just did his mandatory in his last fight why would he want to do it again? Mandatories are chores for fighters, they don't like to do them. He's going after a fight that's far more desirable for him.

Why does he want to fight his mandatory? b/c he has to, hence the word mandatory. If cotto is fighting his and other fighters are fighting there mandatories why shouldn't marg fight his. Again he hasn't done anything or fought anybody where the WBO is like, "oh you fought a hell of a fighter so we can excuse you from fighting your mandatory for one fight". Marg has been saying he's the most ducked fighter in the sport and when Paul Williams calls him out and actually wants to fight him and is his mandatory, he doesn't want to. That's why he's a *****, beating paul williams does nothing but good things for his career b/c he's beating a young contender who many boxing fans know but he's too ****** to realize that or he's just too scared of paul williams.

Well our conversation is pretty much moot if Clottey wasn't Tony's mandatory, but you only have to fight a mandatory once every now and then and if Clottey was his mandatory then he wouldn't want to spend his time on another title defense. He would want to pursue a bout with Miguel Cotto.

I can't recall the exact number, but I believe that you only have to defend the WBA "Super Champion" title once every 1 and a half years. Not sure about the WBO, though.

I'm a big Margarito fan but Arum needs to pull his head out of his ass and put a real fighter in front of him. He should fight Paul Williams and he stated in an interview with a spanish network that he wanted the fight, his people on the other hand dodged the question which really sucks. The list of possible candidates is ****en pathetic, if he doesn't fight williams he should fight at least a top 5 welterweight. Margarito's management is trying to cash in and not lose the cotto fight, but seriously if he can't beat Williams, which i feel he can do without major problems, then he doesn't deserve Cotto.

Yes. He calls out mayweather and complains he is being ducked. Then, when the situation is reversed what does he go and do? The same exact thing he was bitching that was done to him. Hypocritical bull****. Him vacating his title to fight a bigger name for another title isn't a bad thing, but when you've been bitching about something and then do the same thing, then it is. Thats what was ****ed up about what he did. SO NOW hes not fighting Williams, and the reason, from what I heard, was he didn't want to get hurt or lose or something in the previous fight to mess up the Cotto fight which is huge for him. But that excuse is out of the window since he is taking another fight. If he is going to fight, why not fight Williams. First he was just bitching...now hes a *****.
