Peter is not a good fighter, you can not jump to that conclusion based on his last performance. In his first fight, he was out-boxed with ease and as many on this forum say "was schooled", with which I personally disagree.

I saw Rahman, with his Jab giving Maskaev alot more problems than Peter.
Keep in mind that Peter is a shorter man in this fight.

And lastly, Peter KD Wlad 3 times and not 4.
Wlad was fighting very scared and was grabbing him a lot and when he couldn't grab, he was falling down to avoid further exchanges.
I would not call them KD.. at least 2 out of 3

Everything you said is dead on, except...Wlad was NOT fighting scared. He was fighting smart. Even George Foreman said this during the fight.

And yes, Peter did not knock Wlad down from punching him. They were pushes, as the replays clearly show.

God! Thank you! Finally someone else says it! I thought I was the only one out there that apparently saw this fight correctly. Have some karma, Beez.

I don't see Maskaev making it to the fifth round. I really don't. Right now there is Wlad and Peter in the heavyweight division. These two are a far step above everyone else.

peter hasnt been able to stop any top A or B fighters period. I dont see why peter would over maskeav. maskeav seems to have his confidence back after those knockout losses in the past when he was a mess. still,,,,his chin is only average and he's no defensive marvel so I think peter stops him later in the fight

You say that like he's been beaten multiple times. He's only lost to Wlad, an A level fighter if ever there was one. Who else are you talking about?

I think old Maskaev would get KTFO. He's not slick or savvy enough to avoid Peter's power shots like Toney, and even Toney got caught a few times, especially in the rematch. He's too lethargic, and Peter will just explode on him. I see a mid round KO for peter.

if peter comes in fat like the first toney fight, maskaev could beat him. otherwise, no way. an in shape peter with a jab will beat maskaev up and then knock him the **** out. if peter puts the presssure on and maskaev starts losing the fight he'll be forced to stand and trade with peter - this will be his downfall.

but dont forget guys like shufford,,pudar,,and hawkins took peter the distance. do you really think these guys are all that much more durable than maskeav? in fact maskeav knocked hawkins out in the first round. I do think peter stops him after round 6 but I wouldnt be shocked if maskeav took him deep
