The Briggs who lost to Foreman and Lewis is actually better than the 2007 version I feel. The old Shannon with his higher workrate and slightly bigger set of balls would be a legitimate (though inconsistent) threat to most of the top heavyweights, but the 270 lb. Briggs of today is a joke. He beat a pathetic looking Sergei in the least possible impressive KO as allowed by the rules of boxing (trailing in points, hadn't done **** all until then, displayed horrible stamina, stoppage of fight was controversial and it can be argued that the bell should have won before Sergei was stopped etc) and now everyone is riding his bandwagon like he's been a consistent top fighter these last few years.

Briggs has been feasting on journeymen for YEARS. He rose from obscurity to grab the brass ring, and I'll give him that, but his grip on it is tenuous to say the least.

He looked AWFUL in that fight. What was it, 10-15 punches per round on average?

    Briggs is gonna get demolished.

And no offense to you, a guy who I often see eye to eye with, but I have to respectfully disagree in this case. Briggs does not impress me one iota.

Don't give me this crap about robberies because I know Briggs Robbed Foreman. It doesn't change the fact that Briggs was the linear Heavyweight Champion of the World. He has a ton of recognition, moreso than a Sultan from overseas who will feel like he's in the twilight zone before getting KTFO.

Ibragimov fights here, but won't be comfortable in this fight.
lol,,are you actually implying that briggs is better now than his pre foreman days? he was much quicker,,,agressive and a better all around fighter then,,than he is now. you've got to be nuts to think otherwise. and as far as the foreman fight goes,,,your saying the fact that foreman clearly got robbed should be ignored and briggs should be truly recognized as the linear champ of that time? ok,,,whatever dude

        You're missing the point entirely.

As I suspect, you don't think mental pressure has anything to do with fighting. I won't even delve into those things knowing now that you only see black and white.

im not briggs fan you can check my stats but he is gonna win this fight by knockout.

sultan looked like garbage against ray austin, why? it was the biggest fight of his career to date, he was overweight and fought timid after taking a handful of average punches.... austin counterpunched him all night from a distance and quite easily kept sultan at bay... i mean easily, if it didnt take austin 6 rounds to realize sultan was never gonna bring it he would have probably won the fight...

though it hasnt been proven yet by a knockout loss i believe sultan has one of the worst chins of any top heavyweight, the first briggs left hook that crashes home will put him on shaky legs, ill put some money on it

also, sultan has no jab, if you want to beat briggs you gotta break him down and pick him apart from a distance and work inside when you can. ibragimovs best game is to take it to guys and this matchup is a nightmare, i guess it will be more obvious when it is over.

If the Ibragimov that fought Austin shows up then Sultan will lose. If the one who fought Whitaker shows up then he will destroy Briggs easily. Sultans strength is his aggression. When he is coppying Tyson he is an awesome fighter. That knockdown against Austin was a punch and a push down... Watch it again.

Stamina is Briggs' biggest problem. With his asthma (or even without), he simply does not have the cardio capacity to move his 270 pounds around the ring and/or punch for more than 30 seconds out of every 3 minutes.

If Sultan takes it to Briggs, it should be a dynamite, pick-em fight. If Sultan plays it smart (and I'm not sure he can/will), he'll dance around Briggs on his way to a boring UD12.

Sultan can win if he stays away the first couple of rounds. Judging on Briggs last fight, if Sultan can counter he should be ok, as long as he doesn't get caught with Briggs slow but powerful punches.

                  Thank You RWK...

Briggs will Stop Ibragimov in less than 6 rounds, Sultan is way overrated and Austin sort of exposed him, knocking him down twice. Having a career defining fight with Lance ****aker does'nt do it...

Knocking him down twice? You clearly did not see the fight, or don't remember it very well.
