they both strike the same, just from the other stance ..if whitaker was orthodox he would sit down more like floyd does... but more southpaws face more foward.. i might be wrong he may be more like augustus

They were like mirror images of eachother except one southpaw the other orthodox. That's actually the closest style wise, and Mayweather noted that he emulated Whitaker and holds him in high regards.

For some reason Zab was the one that was most compared to Whitaker early in his career . PBF reminds me a lot of a young Toney with the shoulder roll but Toney was more agressive .

I see no similarities in their styles at all. Pea does not fight on the inside at all, Pea never comes forward, Pea was defensive minded first, Pea had less power, Pea got hit less, Pea was a southpaw. The list goes on and on. Mayweather resembles the man in my avatar a lot more than he resembles Pea.

I coudln't disagree more. Mayweather loves and respects Pernell, but I don't see the similarity at all, they have two completely different mindsets in the ring although they both have simliar natural attributes.

Mayweather is a bit like Toney in terms of defense.

Sweet Pea's style was not the closest to Floyd's. Sweet Pea did not fight the same way Floyd does. Pernell ducked oddly low, something Mayweather rarely does. Pernell had a more odd head movement style, and was very hard to hit and did not use the shoulder as much as Floyd does to protect his chin. Pernell relied a little more on pure head movement and odd angles. I don't know how to explain it further than that, but if you watch tapes of Pernell and Floyd back to back you will see they are not super similar.

Augustus is more like Floyd than Pernell was.
