Margarito-Williams Not Likely, As Cotto Bout Looms

You say he's fighting "someone" like Cotto is a no name bum. I dont understand why everyone is now on the side of the alphabet mandatory fights.
He just lined up the biggest fight of his career and doesnt want to risk injury, and/or maybe defeat.

Where did the Margarito nuthuggers go?

It seems he is in a no win situation. When he was calling out floyd, floyd turned him down because "he hasnt fought anyone". Now, he has lined up an extremely tough fighter, probably the best fighter next to floyd, and that isnt good enough.
Cotto is the fight he needs to land floyd, the ultimate goal. People **** on him for holding on the WBO belt, and only fighting mandatories. Now he drops the belt and takes on a legitimate champ., and he gets no respect.
He may be ducking williams,but he took a tougher fight. I still dont see where the hate is. With a superfight lined up, and an injury, a fight with williams may be too big of a risk

I think the Cotto fight is a great fight for Margarito. The problem is he is flat out ducking his mandatory because he knows Williams could beat him and end Margarito's dream of landing a significant fight. Margarito has had no problem fighting all these ****ty mandatories, but when a real challenge steps up Margarito backs down. And now Arum is saying Margarito will probably fight a tune up fight on the Cotto-Urkal undercard. If his wrist is really injured, he shouldn't be fighting anyone at all.

It's just a flat out duck and I think Arum and Margarito's people know he is on the verge of losing to anyone. Hell, Clottey should have beaten Margarito. If Margarito is going to lose, they want to get the most money they can out of him before he completely fades away...

Because Williams isn't a mismandatory. If Margarito was fighting Urkal, you know he would take that fight in a heartbeat...

It has nothing to do with the mandatories. It has everything to do with him avoiding Williams like the plague. He fought Clottey who was ranked lower than Williams and now he is willing to fight another guy who will be ranked lower than Williams. I don't see how this is so hard for you to understand. Cotto is the perfect example. Miguel vs. Margarito will be his biggest fight, but he's still fighting his mandatory. Thats why Cotto gets mad respect and Margarito gets none.

I dont know, im not convinced. I just dont buy the argument that he is scared of williams, which no one knows for sure, when he did everything he could to fight Mayweather and is fighting Cotto. If the "reports" are true that hes fighting a tune-up,then yea,thats ****ed up.
I'd rather see cotto v. margarito, and if not fighting williams is the only way to see it, then duck away.

I think this fight is gonna be great. I like Cotto to win but I dont see either one of them backing up. Margarito is in a no win situation I think. He would lose to Williams and will lose to Cotto. He just will make more money losing to Cotto. Thats why it is what it is. Cotto by Ko by the way!
