Unless somebody has gone back and researched Clark's bout-by-bout career since then, which I doubt, it's likely that his record was just brought forth from an old listing...

Clark would have bettered Mugabi, and also, if I'm not mistaken, I think Billy Fox has the record for consecutive KO's/TKO's to begin a career.
Fox had like 44 or so I believe which is better than Pimental and Clark.

Mugabi might be post-war for that. I'm not sure. Mugabi definitely has some kind of record though, unless my source (which I can't even remember right now, I'll have to look) is wrong.

Ruben Olivaras and Carlos Zarate have long ko streaks. I think Olivaras had the record for ko streak, but both these guys ko'd a **** load of people, i remember them holding some kind of record. Alfonzo Zamora had a good ko streek too. So did Wilfredo Gomez, all his title defence at jr. featherweight i beilve were by ko.

His competition was at a very low level, no wonder...

Wow, before his first loss he was 44-0 with 43 straight KO's. But the surprising part is the long list of bums he fought, not his record.

In those 44 fights, his opponents had a total of 6 wins!

This streak occurred way before boxrec was invented or even the internet, maybe those are the records of fights accounted for, its not like all of their fights were televised.
