Sweet Pea etc on ESPN Classic.

    They're airing a couple of Whitaker's fights.

I'm watching the Nelson fight right now, and they're going to air the fight with Mcgirt after this, then Bowe v.s. Holy 3.

Later on they're going to show Lewis v.s. Mercer and Holy v.s. Mercer.

    Badass fights those are.

Nice. Seeing Ali and Frazier daily and just old fights were getting boring.

      Big time.

I think they've aired Ali v.s. Quarry about fifty thousand times this month. I don't give a damn about those fights anymore.

The fights today are fresh and I haven't seen them in a while.

Whitaker is one of the best ever. Ring magazine did a ranking called 80 best fighters over the last 80 years and pernell came at #10. Imagine if he got the decision over ramirez and the bull**** draw against jcc was given to him. He prolly would have been like #6 or 7 then.

brownpimp88, where would he be ranked if they didnt' rob Wilfredo Rivera of his two victories over Whitiker?

I'll admit, some Mexicans in that stadium after the fight said that Whitiker won -told Mexican television reporter. But the way you put it, you make it sound like the 20 thousand or more, crowd were all Chavez fans.....who knows maybe they were..

He was in some borring fights. At least when i started whatching him. He fought Jake Rodriguez, why? And he fought some other lower class fighter on hbo too -thought people don't mention this. One fight that i wish would have came off is Whitiker v. Quartey, that would been a great fight. Stylisticly, this is a toss up, with Quartey repeated jabs. Or the Trinidad v. Whitiker fight, sooner then it happened. Seeing what Delahoya did to Trinidad, it would appear that Trinidad would lose to Whitiker, but Whitiker lost to Trinidad. Im still surprised by the way Whitiker fought Trinidad -aggressor- but he didn't fight Delahoya in this manner. Imo, this shows that Delahoya hits harder at least the way Whitiker fought them would seem like it.
